As I was adding some final touch ups to my hair I got a text from Wilbur saying he was here. I smiled at my phone and grabbed my bag. Right before I opened the front door, Rachel turned around from the couch and saw me.

"You look nice!" She exclaimed. "Where you going?"

"Just going out," I told her, trying to hide my smile. I didn't really want her to make a big deal out of it. It wasn't a date or anything, right?

"Who with?" She laughed. We both know I have no one to hang out with. "Oh my god," she jumped. "Are you going out with Wilbur?"

"Don't make this a bigger deal than it is," I groaned.

"You are! So you're together?" She asked.

"Absolutely not!" I laughed. "You jump to conclusions way to quickly. We're just hanging out, as friends."

"Okay, have fun!" She smiled and turned back to the TV. "But not too much fun," I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"See you later!" I yelled to her as I opened the door. I locked the door and turned around to see Wilbur waiting in the car. He was looking down at his phone and was a little startled when I opened the passenger seat door.

"Hey!" He smiled. I couldn't help but blush at the sound of his voice and his perfect smile.

"Hey," I said as I shut the door.

"You look great." He said to me.

"Thanks, Wil. Where are we going? I know this place downtown-"

Wilbur cut me off and said, "I already have a plan." I was curious but excited as I watched him smile to himself and put the car into drive. What is he up to?

I looked out the window at all the lights as we drove through the city. I honestly had no idea where we were going but it was kind of nice. No one's ever really done something like this for me before. Wilbur's just always full of surprises.

I looked over at Wil and he quickly looked away. "Keep your eyes on the road!" I yelled at him. We both laughed.

"Sorry, sorry!" I looked at him smiling. I looked back out the window as he said, "we're here!" I saw the long beach and rolling waves slamming against the shore. We both got out of the car and he went to the trunk. I stood by the car, looking at the sky. "Okay," I  heard Wilbur say as I turned back to him holding his guitar.

"Your guitar?" I laughed.

"Come on," he nudged my arm. "It'll be fun," his smile was so warm and trustworthy. I watched him start running to the beach. He stopped and turned around to see me just standing there. He chuckled a little and came back up to me. "Not coming?"

"I am, I am." We smiled at each other and Wilbur held his hand out. I looked down at his hand and grabbed it. I immediately felt my arm being pulled by Wilbur jogging to the sand. "Slow down!" I laughed.

We got to the water and stood with our feet in it. I watched the small waves flow over our feet as we stared at the endless ocean. I felt Wilbur squeeze my hand and I looked down at his fingers wrapped around mine.

"Here," Wil said as he lead me to the sand. We both sat down and he put his guitar down.

"It's so pretty out here," I said as I looked up at the stars.

I looked back at Wilbur and he was smiling. "Not as pretty as you," he said.

"Shut up!" I laughed as I pushed his shoulder.

He chuckled, "What? I'm being honest!"

"Whatever," I couldn't help but smile. I laid down and stared at the stars. There were so many. It was the perfect night for something like this. I felt Wilbur's shoulder brush against mine as he laid next to me.

"Wow," I looked over at Wil as I heard him start talking. "It is really pretty." I looked back up and we stayed there for a minute or two. I felt Wilbur get up so I did the same. I watched him grab his guitar and he began strumming.

"Are you really gonna-"

"Shhhh," Wilbur whispered as he kept playing. "Life isn't quite what I thought I'd be when I was a kid on VOIP," I gave him a face like, "what songs is this?" And he just smiled. "I thought when I get older I'd marry her, I told her," he continued. I had never heard this song before but I really liked it. "This is the chorus," he whispered to me before going back to singing. "But he's in your bed and I'm in your twitch chat," I watched him looked up from his guitar to see me smiling. He chuckled a little and kept going. "I've got the key and he's just a doormat," I listened to him sing the song. Everything about it, the lyrics, his voice, was so magical. "And even though he's got social skills, that doesn't mean I can't pay the bills. Anyway make the most of him, 'cos she moves on pretty bloody quick. Your new boyfriend an asshole." He stopped after the chorus, "so? What do you think?"

"Wil, that's amazing! Who sings it?"

He paused for a second before saying, "I do." I was shocked. "I haven't released it yet or anything," he said.

"That is so good!" He laughed. "No seriously, when did you write that?"

"I started it a couple months ago. You actually like it?"

"Absolutely," He smiled at me and I couldn't help but smile back. I scooted closer to him and put my head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm around me. This night couldn't get any more perfect.
