"This doesn't make any sense," Delia grabbed a hold of her hair, "a dagger that turns human into Pokemon? So these... Pokemon that I've been studying are people? Ugh! My thesis is incorrect then!"

"You're worried about your thesis?" Asked Gary.

"Of course not," Delia sighed, "it's just one of my troubles... I'm going crazy. This is it for today, I have some study to do."

The brunet sighed as she stood up, after his shocking revelation, Delia had brought him alone in her study or maybe bedroom. There were books and stacks of sheets everywhere so he couldn't quite distinguish.

When he walked outside, he found Serena waiting for him.

"What did she say?" She asked eagerly, "are those Unowns human?"

Seeing the blonde, Gary couldn't help but remember the conversation he had with his father early in the morning.

Ever since he was a kid, a sister was all he wanted, along with a few immaterial things.

And now, after twenty years, he finally had one.

Gary didn't answer Serena's question's, instead, he pulled her in a tight huge burying his face in her lush blonde hair,

Serena didn't know how to react, her hands were left dangling by the sides. Gary had been acting weird around her since this morning. He had been avoiding eye contact since they bumped shoulders at the cafeteria.

And now, he was hugging her.

"Um... Gary?" Said the blonde, "this is like... weird."

The brunet smiled, "I'm glad you're my sister."

"I'm your what now?"

"Nothing," he parted ways, "you have a long conversation ahead of you."

As fate would have it, Serena had that conversation not less than an hour ago.

"Serena," Grace shook her daughter gently, "you haven't said anything for a couple of minutes."

The blonde closed her jaw which had been hanging open as if its screws were loose.

"Does my father know?" She asked her mother.

"Charlus found out—"

"Not Charlus," she closed her eyes, "Mark."

The ebony-haired grunted her teeth, "I think Alisa told him before he died... or he found out by himself."

Serena broke down into a cry, she felt as if someone had snatched her heart out of her chest and grinding it into pure mulch. The storm outside the walls of Hald Fest grew and so did the storm of conflict inside her.

"Why?" She cried, "why would you do that to him?"

"I didn't have a choice," she sighed, "You were a Van Black and an Oak. Sweetie, you don't know much about my family, I had to do it to keep you safe."

"But what... what of Mark?" Tears were rolling down her eyes, "he... he must've felt so... betrayed! He... he must hate me!"

"No," Grace took her hand in hers, "Mark has every reason to loathe me, I did what I did, you're not at fault. You will never be at fault."

But Serena didn't heed her words. The poor blonde couldn't help but think about her poor father, the previous one, the one she grew up with.

Even though a little part of her hated Mark for leaving, for not fighting for her as hard as he should've, she couldn't help but cry over his helplessness. Putting herself in his shoes she realized how terrible he must've felt. Knowing that a child he took care of for years wasn't even his.

It was a cruel jape.

"I... I need to leave," she wiped her nose.

Grace nodded, "Sure, sweetie."

The blonde crossed paths with Charlus on her way out of the room. The brunet looked puzzled to see his daughter in tears. But before he could've asked her what was the matter, she ran past him, barely looking at her in the eyes.

"I told her I'm dying," Grace joked as he approached the door.

Charlus chuckled, "No, there would've been fewer tears then, this is definitely 'my father is Charlus Oak' tears."

Grace laughed as she sprayed her body over the bed.

"Um... aren't you going to give me a little space to sit?"

The ebony-haired shook her head.

"Fine," Charlus scratched his head, "I'm sorry for screaming at you."

"And?"

"Blaming you for my mistakes."

"And?"

"Um... Grabbing your wrist?"

"And?"

"Ugh... making you shed your tears?"

Grace still wasn't satisfied but she got up, shifted a little aside making way for Charlus to sit down.

"So..." Charlus said, nervously, "we have a baby."

"She's hardly a baby," Grace scoffed, "she's twenty."

"Well I found out about her yesterday, to me she's still a few hours old."

The two of them sat quietly in silence for some time. The only thing which could be heard over the course of the next few minutes was the roaring storm that had been brewing outside.

Suddenly, Grace burst into a laugh.

"What?" Asked Charlus.

"I... I... I... I have a baby with Charlus Oak!" She said in between her violent laughs.

The old man couldn't help but giggle, "Red would turn in his grave!"

"And so would my parents! An Oak in the Van Black family!" She burst into another laugh.

The brunet joined the mother of his child in their little laughter session. "You know what else is funny? I have two children and they both hate me!"

Grace laughed even louder, "Don't know about Gary, but Serena doesn't have a mean bone in her body, pretty sure she'll force us to take a family picture together in no time!"

Charlus wiped the tears off his eyes, "Good Golly, how can that girl be a Van Black?"

"She's not!" She gaped, "she's an Oak!"

Their little banter went for a couple of more minutes. It wasn't until an hour or two later that they concluded.

"We both deserve each other."

The two of them stared into each other's eyes before bursting into another laugh.
