So similar, the devil is...like a distorted mirror.

One that stares back, pushes, challenges you to dare beyond instinct.

A once empty home is now filled with love and care, enough that it seems safe to dare go outside.

The back yard is bright, filled with lights and a family ready to celebrate.

No longer alone.

But change had befallen, enough so that it feels ok to slip into new clothes.

The disgusting tones of black darkness no longer seems so bad, the warmth of a turtleneck welcome when braving the chill of the outdoors.

So while dinning with the angels, those benevolent and close to the heart, the devil inside the home lingers by the doorstep, staring, assessing.

What once hid in the shadows of the now well lit home stares back once again, and this time...this time you dare to smile back.

Hand stretched out, as if to beckon the darkness to the new light.

Will the devil, a twin to the soul, accept the hand?

Maybe not alone, but you are not the only light beckoning the devil to come outside, not anymore.

Now with teamwork, you dare to brave the unknown beyond.
