Five days later...

"It's not fair, I'm fit enough to go back to work." Jac sighs, nursing a cup of coffee in her hands.

"The last time you returned, you had a panic attack and ended up in hospital, so no I don't think so." Kian says, sitting next to her.

"Oh come on, they've put me on tablets and that, I'll be fine." She smiles, trying to persuade him.

"Absolutely not." He says "You are staying home for another week or so."

Jac sighs and turns away for a second "Hug?" She says, turning back to him.

They hug, and Jac looks at him.

"If you don't want to stay with me..." she starts.

"Of course I do." He smiles, grabbing a drink from the table.

"No Kian, I'm giving you an out." She says, putting her hair up "You don't have to be with me, out of pity."

"I'm not with you out of pity Jac, I'm with you because I love you." He says, standing up "I want to start a family with you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"You want to have a family with me?" She asks, standing up and looking at him "I don't think, I want anymore children."

"And that's okay."  Kian smiles at her "Me, you and Emma can be a family."

"You really don't care, that I don't want kids?" Jac asks, picking up her coffee cup from the table.

"If it's what makes you happy, then I don't care." He says, standing up and wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Well, I'm going to work now okay?" He says to her, as he grabs his coat and starts to walk out the door "Bye, see you later!" He shouts.

"Bye!" She shouts back, sitting down and putting the TV on.

She felt bored, more than she had in a long time. She just wanted to get back to work, but of course he wouldn't let her.

Meanwhile...

Kian arrives at work, and walks into Pulses he orders three boxes of doughnuts and a coffee.

"God, how many people are you eating for?" Sacha says, as he walks up.

"Well I would say they are for the team, but that would be a lie." Kian grins, taking a doughnut out and eating it.

"So, how's Jac?" Sacha asks, concerned about his best friend.

"Yeah, she's doing better." Kian smiles "A lot better, I think she said that she'll ring you today."

"That's code word for 'I'm actually going into work, to see Sacha'." He replies.

"Well she can't do that?!" Kian says, putting his coffee on the floor and taking out his phone.

He rings Jac's number, and she picks up.

"Naylor, you better stay at home!" Kian, demands.

"Oh yeah, and what are you going to do about it if I don't?" She says, laughing.

"I'll find a way to punish you." He replies.

"Maybe I just want to see my best friend, is that too much to ask?" She sighs, sounding dejected.

"Look, he can come over tonight okay?" Kian says, trying to eat another doughnut while talking.

"Yeah that sounds good, also stop eating while you're talking." She says, as she hangs up.

"Soo, Sacha please can you come over tonight?" Kian asks, using his best puppy dog eyes.

"I'm not Jac Naylor, those eyes don't work on me." Sacha laughs, and looks away "Give me a doughnut, and I'll think about it."

Kian hesitates for a second, one of his precious doughnuts - absolutely no way, he is giving one of them up.

"Okay, for Jac." Kian sighs, handing Sacha one.

"Thanks." Sacha smiles, as he puts it in his mouth and gets out of the lift.

Eventually the lift stops on the sixth floor, and Kian walks out.

He walks up to the nurses station, and puts down one box of three doughnuts from the original six.

Nobody else is having any of his doughnuts today, these are all his.

He walks into the office, and puts them in his drawer.

Later...

Kian looks at the time it's 8:45pm, five minutes until he finishes and can head home for the night.

The time goes past slowly, he feels like he is sitting there for hours. He puts his coat on, and takes his doughnuts.

"I'm home!" He shouts, as he walks through the door.

Jac comes down from upstairs "Hey." She smiles, as he kisses her cheek.

"How are you feeling?" He asks, touching her forehead.

"I'm fine." She smiles "The first sleep, I've had for a long time."

"That's good." He smiles back, as he sits down.

"So if we did have a child, what would we do?" She asks, sitting down beside him.

"What do you mean?" He asks, turning to look at her.

"I mean would we keep it, get a termination?" She says, as she stands up and grabs some food from the fridge.

"Well I would like to keep it?" He says, confused.

"Okay, and what would we call it?" She asks, sitting back down with the food.

"Jac, what are all these questions?" He asks, getting concerned.

"Oh, just nothing." Jac sighs, picking up a fork and eating the food in front of her.

"Okay, please can we stop talking about our hypothetical children." Kian sighs, looking down.

"No we can't." Jac replies, looking at him "Because they aren't hypothetical anymore."

"I'm pregnant, Kian."
