Kian rushes down to NICU, he runs through the doors and sees the nurses working on Noah.

"What's going on?" Kian asks, walking over "Is he okay?"

"Yeah, but we need to take him to surgery." The nurse replies.

"What?! Why?!" Kian says, alarmed.

"We've been keeping an eye on him, and his heart is irregular."

"We believe, he now also has congenital heart defect, probably genetic."

"Yeah, my dad has one..." Kian sighs, looking down.

"If things get worse, we will need to take him down to surgery. And with how things could go, there is less then a 20% chance of survival."

"What? Is he even ready for surgery?"

"He will be, when we take him down." The nurse replies.

"But he's so tiny." Kian says, as a tear drops from his eye.

"And his mum hasn't had a chance to see him yet, what if he dies?" He asks, looking at the small baby in the incubator.

"His skin..." Kian says, putting his hand on the incubator.

"Yeah, that's one of the symptoms." The nurse replies, "We'll try our best, to save him."

"She needs to see him, can't we take him up?"

"No, we can't." The nurse replies "His immune system hasn't developed properly, and there are infections hanging around. We don't want to expose him."

"Please..." Kian, almost begs.

"I'm sorry but, if he gets an infection he will die."

Kian sighs and looks down at Noah, he's still so small and still.

"You fight okay? You fight for you mummy." He smiles, "We both need you."

Noah's hand starts to move a little bit, and Kian turns to look at the nurse.

"His hand, it moved." He smiles.

The nurse smiles at him "Movement is good, we'll take him down shortly. You should, go and tell the mother."

"Yeah, I should." He replies, walking out of the room.

Ten minutes later...

Kian walks into HDU, Jac is laying there looking at the wall. Clearly bored, and feeling lonely.

"Hey." He says, sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Hey." She smiles, kissing him.

He kisses her forehead back, and looks at her sadly "It's Noah, he needs surgery."

"Why? What's wrong with him?" She asks, instantly panicked.

"His heart, it's beating irregular they think he might have a defect."

"What? How did they not pick it up in the scan?"

"I know it's scary, Jac." He sighs, taking her hand.

She looks him right in the eye "What's the survival chance?"

"It's 20%." Kian smiles "It's not good, but it's a chance."

Jac looks at him "A chance?!" She shouts a bit.

"That's barely anything, he's going to die and I'm not going to be able to see him."
