Chapter 52 - Who Am I Now?

Someone drops to the floor, their blood spilling.

Kian rushes over, "What did you do?!" He shouts.

Remi stands there frozen, "I didn't mean to do that."

"Well you did!" Kian shouts, as Jac lays there bleeding out.

He puts his hand on her wound, "It's okay, I've got you."

"No..." Jac says "I'm going to die."

"No, you aren't." He smiles, even though he can see the light draining from her eyes.

"Yeah...I am..." She replies, starting to get paler.

Kian takes his phone out, and rings up to Darwin.

"I need a trolley, and stuff down to the basement now." He says "Someone's been shot."

He hangs up and looks down at Jac, she's gone unconscious.

"Jac!" He says, slapping her face.

"No come on!" Kian shouts, he feels her neck and realises she has no pulse.

He starts to do CPR, "You aren't dying, the kids need you. I need you, you're my life."

"If you die, who will I be?" He sobs, as she slowly starts to come around.

"Hey." He smiles down at her, she's getting paler and paler.

Her eyes aren't bright anymore, he can see the pain in them.

"I know, I know." He says, stroking her hair.

"But we need you, we really do."

"I...love...you." She manages to get out.

He smiles at her "That's it, you keep talking."

"Tell...the...kids...that...I love...them." She says.

"No, because you'll be here to do that yourself."

"No... I won't." She replies, as her eyes start to close again.

"No don't you dare!" He shouts, slapping her face some more.

"I..." She says "I...I'm tired."

"I know you are, but you can sleep later." He responds, stroking her hair.

"I...need...to...go." She says, as she starts to splutter up down blood.

The team from Darwin arrives, and they slowly put her on the trolley.

They rush up to Darwin, and go straight to surgery to get the bullet out.

Kian paces in HDU, as they wouldn't let him in.

Meanwhile...

Jac is taken to surgery, complications ensue and nobody knows if they can save her.

Death is knocking, he's right on her tail.

Jac starts to go into arrest, and they start to do CPR.

It eventually brings her around, and they return her to HDU.

Kian sits next to her hospital bed and smiles, she's fine she's not going to die.

She slowly starts to come around "Hi." She says, sleepily.

"Hey" he smiles, taking her hand.
