Ian's P.O.V

"What do you think about marriage?" She asks me.

"I would like to get married at some point, if that's what you're referring to," I say, running my fingers up and down her arm in an attempt to keep her warm.

It's been 4 days since our little getaway at the beach. We didn't do much the next day, we left quite early because her brother decided to come and visit her. I didn't get to meet him, but maybe next time.

Now it's currently midnight and we're cuddling up on my balcony with a blanket around us, talking about all sorts of things that we haven't talked about before. Chloe is sitting criss-cross with her head resting on my shoulder and her hand on my thigh as I have mine around her back.

It's a quiet night with a light breeze. I close my eyes and lean my head back on the door, letting the cold air cool down my body.

"That's good to know. I want to get married as well when I'm older, but I was talking more about the whole idea of marriage. I think more and more people nowadays don't want to get married," she says.

"Yeah, that's true. I guess people just don't like that kind of commitment. Marriage is not that simple, and it costs a lot of money, that could be another reason why it puts people off. Other people might just not see the point in getting married or don't like the whole shebang, " I say.

"Yeah, that's true, what about kids? Do you want kids?" She asks.

"Yeah, I want kids, you?"

"Me too, how many do you want?"

"Maybe like 2-3 you?"

"I want four kids if I'm blessed enough, " she says, running soothing circles with her thumb on my thigh.

"We can work on that. When would you ideally want to start having a family?" I say.

"When I'm around 27-28 years old maybe, it really depends on how things are going to be at that time and if I'm financially stable."

"So, basically when the time is right and hopefully before 30," I say.

"Yeah, pretty much, how about you?"

"Whenever you're ready, I'll be too, " I open my eyes and lean my head forward, catching her biting her lip before smiling.

"Important question that if we're going to be together for the long run matters a lot, " she lifts her head so she can make eye contact with me.

"Oh boy, what is it now?" I groan and let my head lean back on the door still maintaining eye contact.

"I love dogs. So, when we have our own place, we're for sure getting at least two dogs and this is a deal-breaker for me, so think carefully before you answer, " she says, pointing her finger at my face.

"I love dogs, love, so don't worry, we'll have a dog by our side until the day we die, " I whisper, leaning forward and biting her finger gently, making her pull it away immediately with a smile.

"Deal?" She asks, leaning her head towards me and puckering up her lips.

"Deal, " I whisper before kissing her.

"Oh, don't you ever point a finger at me again. I'll bite it harder next time, deal?" I ask, puckering up my lips.

"Deal, " she says, kissing me before returning to our original position with her head on my shoulder.

I move my hand around her shoulders and keep my eyes on her.

She's the most beautiful sight on earth. I cherish all the conversations we have however deep and meaningful or random and weird they are. I admire her strength and confidence. She speaks her mind and she's so thoughtful. She cares about me and shows me how much she... Oh my God!
