Alexander's POV

True to her word, Mother planned the wedding and we didn't have to do anything at all, except getting our suits fitted. And since it was a royal wedding, the whole kingdom of Nasales was invited.

The day of the wedding itself left me nervous and excited. I was happy and proud to be with Cassidy but my stomach couldn't help feeling a little knotted and sore. I didn't really have a reason to be stressed since mama did all the work, but I couldn't help worrying- oh I wasn't having second thoughts, I would never- but what if Cassidy had second thoughts and didn't want me anymore?

We each had our own dressing rooms to get ready, I was ready. With nothing else to do, I paced and stressed myself out with all those worries flashing through my mind.

The door opened, startling me. Cassidy stood there. I couldn't help but stare. He was in his suit and looking positively delicious. I couldn't wait to peel it off him tonight and take him. Soon. Cassidy stared at me, the corners of his mouth tilted upwards. Then his tongue flicked out to lick his lips. I swallowed.

"Hello, Alex."

"Hey," I gulped.

He looked at me amused.

"Are you just going to stand there?"

"No?"

He smiled, "I came to tell you to stop worrying actually."

My eyes widened. "How did you know?"

His eyes softened. "I know you, Alex. And I know you worry that I don't actually want this or that I've changed my mind. I'm here to tell you that I do want this. And I won't regret it. Ever."

My heart melted. I couldn't wait. I crossed the room over to him and kissed him. Our arms wrapped around each other.

"I love you."

"I love you too Alex," He smiled. "Now, are you ready to get stuck with me for life?"

"Ever ready."

"Let's go."

We walked up the aisle. We said our vows. We kissed. And we danced. That night, everyone could feel our love. It was perfect. Everything was perfect.

But of course, being the royal couple meant having to meet and greet ambassadors from other Kingdoms. It was all fine except for one which left a strange feeling in my stomach.

He introduced himself as the duke of Lupus. Lupus was the only Kingdom of werewolves. It is said that that's where the first werewolves came from and other than myself, all werewolves have come from Lupus.

The Duke himself was a werewolf and the way he looked at me as he bowed was strange. It felt like I knew him except that I had never met him. I was so unsettled that Cassidy called time out from 'meet and greet session'. He led me to the private balcony reserved for the two of us. I looked down at the kingdom and clenched my fingers on the railings. Cassidy was quiet as he moved to my side. After moments of silence, he spoke.

"Talk to me."

I looked at him, not sure what to say. I was still feeling ill at ease. He seemed to understand and pulled me into his arms, resting his head on my chest. I revelled in the warmth and safety of his arms, resting my head on the crown of his. We stayed there for a while. Cassidy just holding me and me just breathing in his calming scent. Everything about him was calming to me.

After a while, I was feeling more grounded and my stomach less knotted.

"The Duke of Lupus," I said.
