Kaitlyn rolled her eyes at Alfred as she sat back on the couch. Troy had received a phone call and left to answer it. She turned to give Justin her hair and he played with it.

"What are you doing?" She asked trying not to laugh

"Braiding it" he replied causally

"Do you have any idea what to do?"

"Yeah I have a sister, remember?"

"Oh yeah. Illania" he grinned

"So stay still and don't complain"

"He used our hair to practice when we were younger" Rafael said and scoffed

"It was funny" Justin argued as Troy came back

"I'm leaving" he announced and they all turned to him

"What's wrong?" Kaitlyn asked

"It's nothing serious" he replied and looked at Rafael

"Relax, Cookie" he said to Kaitlyn with a smile "he's fine"

"Okay" she said. Relax, Kaitlyn. She scolded herself. Alfred just stared at Troy without a word. Troy avoided his gaze and left.

"So do you mind briefing us about this ex-boyfriend of yours?" Justin asked

"Well, it's nothing serious" she replied. Feeling more comfortable now that Troy had gone.

"It must be. Since he came back for you"

"Actually, we met through some friends back in Tennessee. Started off as friends and then we began dating. When my parents died and Aunt Lia decided against us having anything related to dad, he dumped me saying he dated me only cause of dad and now that we don't have anything, he wants nothing to do with me. He disappeared without a trace. No one knew where he went or about his family. The only thing I found out was, he was a native of San Diego"

"What a tragic love story" Rafael said and wiped an imaginary tear making her smile.

"It's actually funny" Alfred said "and stupid. You met this guy, okay. You became friends. Acceptable. You fell in love, shitty. But you've never met his parents, anyone from his family. Don't know anything about him and yet dated him. How stupid can you be?"

"Well forgive me for not taking your advice" Kaitlyn half yelled "I was fourteen and naive. Naive and stupid. I needed a man in my life, my dad wasn't there, my mother was emotionally unstable. I met Drake and he filled that void of been lost. He made me feel wanted and loved. I was losing hope when I met him. But it's okay, you'll never understand" and with that, she stomped out of the living room. Rafael looked at Alfred and sighed as a tear escaped from his eyes while Alfred just stood and left

"Rafael, you okay?" Justin asked. "Pull yourself together"

"She did the same thing. Disappeared into thin air when things were getting rough" he said

The elevator beeped as it came to a stop at the rooftop where Kaitlyn sat. She turned to see who was invading her privacy when a hand was placed around her shoulder. She shot a glare when she saw it was Alfred.

"How're you?" He asked

"Leave"

"I didn't mean what I said. It was stupid I know"

"No I'm the stupid one. You made a valid point. I'll be careful next time"

"It's not your fault. Well partially"

"What sort of apology is this?"

"I'm trying, okay? Don't make me throw you down from here"

"Yeah yeah then you'd go to jail"
