It had been a couple days since Ron had been finally let out of the infirmary. His wrist was still causing him some slight pain but, thankfully, wasn't sprained anymore.

Madame Pomfrey had told him to be causious with it still, as to not damage it more, but Ron ignored her and took being let go as a opportunity to finally do the things he'd been wanting to do for weeks. Such as play Quidditch.

Hermione, Harry and I had managed to convince him out of it for the mean time, but it sure as hell wasn't going to last very long.

"Y/n are you coming? McGonigall said she had to make an announcement!" Callum called my name, just after we where about to part ways to get to our other classes in time.

"What are you on about?" I asked.

"Didn't you hear? McGonagall said there'd be a big announcement for all the Fourth and Fifth years just before our lesson before Lunch. We're supposed to gather in the DADA room. No come on now, you don't want to miss it!"

I nodded and hastily caught up to him as we walked side by side to the current DADA classroom. Quirrell was off sick for some strange reason and had lent the room for McGonigall to teach in while he was away. He'd been off sick that alot lately and I was starting to wonder if he was secretly a wearwolf or something, but remembered the full moon wasn't for another few weeks. That had quickly shut my idea down.

We all quickly gathered into the classroom as McGonagall sorted us girls and boys separately and I was stuck sitting next to a Ravenclaw girl called Lara. She was sweet, don't get me wrong, but it was times like these that made me really miss Aria. Getting pared off in classes to people I never knew just because she wasn't there, having to chat with other girls in my year when there was no-one else to talk to. Even Vera, wasn't there as much.

The rest of the gang (Lee, Fred, George and Callum) where sitting in the other side chatting with Percy and his dorm-mates as well as the famous Griffindoor Quidditch Captain, Oliver Wood. They seemed to not have any problems socialising and instantly making new friends with the other people in their year.

That's what I was always jealous about; how they could instantly make long lasting connections with people. Whereas with me... it took a huge amount of strength for me to even go up and talk to someone, let alone end up having a strong bond with them. Even Vera and Aria where the ones to first come and introduce themselves to me and the same was for the boys.

"Ok everybody settle down!" McGonigall's voice boomed across the classroom and everyone instantly stopped talking.

"I bet you're all wondering why I asked you to come over today, especially before Lunch where you will are surely be very hungry." We all nodded and Fred loudly groaned in hunger.

"Thank you Mr. Weasley." She gave him a look and we all snickered.

"The main reason I brought you all here to day I'd because I'm happy to announce that because of all your excellent behaviours these past few weeks, the other staff and I and decided to create a special occasion for you all to enjoy. This will be named the Winter Ball which will officially be known as Hogwarts' first school ball!"

The entire classroom erupted into cheers mostly by the boys groans and the girls excitement, but I wasn't going to lie, I was very exited myself. I had only ever been to a Ball while I was in Muggle Primary School and was so exited to see how Hogwarts' will be different.

"Silence!" We all quickly quietened at McGonigall's loud voice.

"Just because this is a time for you guys to relax, doesn't mean I want you guys to misbehave. This is still a school and it's reputation will not be ruined by you all acting like a bambiling band of baboons!"

I turned to me left to see Fred and George wisper to Lee saying something like 'say it's three times faster' and laughed as he attempted to say it three times fast. I laughed quietly at their antics and turned my attention back to Professor McGonigall.

"The Ball will be in two weeks time on the night before you would usually leave for the Winter break and, of course, all classes will be cancelled during that week. But-" she stopped us from chatting exitedly once again.

"This week will still have your usual lessons and exams will be post-poned for the new year. Unfortunately, because most of the Professor's will be very busy during this time, we need volunteers to help set up and organise the Great Hall for the accasion. You will be able to use magic to help out and extra credit will be given to students who participate. So, any volunteers?"

I imidiently shot my hand up and so did a few other girls, including Vera, and so did Callum, Ben, Dylan and... Percy. Oh of course he would sign up, I thought. But I was glad to not be stuck with him and to have at least some people I knew helping me out with the decor.

"Fantastic!" She clapped her hands together in excitement. "You can all start planning and organising next week, we will meet up on Monday same time but in the Great Hall. Have a great time guys!"

We all ushered out of the Hall and exited chatter filled the crowd. "Is this awesome! We can finally have a school dance!" I said excitedly, "I can finally have an opportunity to wear that outfit my Dad got me for my birthday last year! I just hope it still fits."

"I'm sure it will, and you'll look amazing in it that's for sure." Callum stated and I smiled brightly.

"Gosh I'm so exited! And I'm not glad I won't be alone planning everything and doing the decor!" I said. "But wait..."

"Wait what?" Callum was confused by my suddenly saddened face, previously full of enthusiasm.

"What if I don't get a date in time? I don't want to show up alone and I'm sure you'll all have date by the end of it."

"Hey that's not going to happen! I highly doubt it." Callum said but I still wasn't convinced.

"Come on Y/n you're literally gorgeous any guy would be so luck to have you and I'm not even jocking!" He stopped me and gripped onto my shoulders to get me face him. "You're beautiful, believe me."

I smiled. "Thank you, and I'm glad you said that but what if I still don't get asked out?"

"Then you and I go together."

"What?"

"If we both don't have a date by the end of the week we can go together, as friends of course."

"Oh really? Thank you, thank you, thank you! You're an angel!" I hugged him tightly and he laughed.

"Now come on, we've got to start planning."
