~ before the entrence of the Great Hall ~

"Oh gosh Callum I'm so nervous, I dont think I can do this." I said, fiddling with my fingers and constantly adjusting my outfit and hair style even thought Callum constantly reassured that I looked great.

"Why? Is something wrong?" He asked, concern threading in his voice. "If anything I should be the one nervous right now." He attempted to joke and I tried laughing but it came out forced.

"I don't know really...maybe it's because it's my first Wizard's Ball or that I have to see these people for the next three years or maybe even longer and I don't want them to judge for for the way I'm dressed and I don't really do well in the spotlight..." I rambled on.

Callum understood my worry and let me talk it all out, responding only when he knew I'd finished. "I get that you feel nervous and if it gets too much we can always just get out of here and so something else if you want. We can just scratch this whole Winter Ball idea." He suggested.

"No, absolutely not! You're performing tonight and I don't want to miss that! Plus, this might be my only chance of ever going to a Ball again. And besides, I'm not alone. I have you, Fred, George, Lee, Josh, Ben, Dylan, Tom and Percy." I said.

"Ok then." He extended out his arm for me to link mine with his. "In that case, shall we Miss Y/l/n?"

"We shall Sir Thomas." I chuckled and held onto him firmly as we descended the steps of the Great Hall. And we both let out a gasp of shock and mesmerisation when we did.

It was all very beautifully decked out, with the ceiling giving the illusion of the nights sky, the dainty fairy lights handing all around the Great Hall lighting it faintly. The walls were now painted a Golden yellow and the floors were made of a dark wood flooring. The candles floating in he sky only illuminated the gorgeous Ballroom.

At the other end of the Great Hall, the stage was set up and a band was already playing. It was as if we were at a concert. They where playing a rather playful, upbeat song almost everyone was dancing to and I couldn't wait to do so myself.

"My gosh it's gorgeous!" I exclaimed.

"Damn right it is, and almost all of it thanks to you guys." Josh said, spotting us at the bottom of the staircase, hand in hand with Dylan.

"I have to agree with Mr. Hot stuff here." Dylan not-so-subtly winked at Josh who rolled his eyes playfully at his boyfriend's attempts at flirting. "You guys did a great job."

"Thank you." Callum smiled. I slowly drifted off from their rather uninteresting conversation and took my time to scan the busy Hall for a certain red-head.

"Y/nnnn!" Dylan waved his hand Infront of my face, noticing my lack of input in the conversation. "Who are you looking for?"

"Oh uh, no-one in particular. I was just looking to see where everyone else is." I lied. And they surprisingly didn't question it.

"I saw Lee dancing with Alicia a couple of minutes ago and Fred with Angelina. I'm not so sure about George but we just talked to Percy a couple of minutes ago and he quickly went out to get some fresh air." Josh answered for me.

"Ok well thanks guy, it was great talking to you but I'm going to go get a drink. See you behind stage Callum?" I said and he nodded. "Ok then good luck!" I waved them off.

I walked over not to far away to the food and drinks table and poured myself a cup of Pumpkin juice. I took a quick sip and instantly regretted it.

I was never fond of Pumpkin anything and was annoyed to see no other drink there. What kind of place doesn't even serve Butterbeer?! I quickly swallowed the drink to get the taste out of my mouth as fast as possible. I instead opted to get a drink of water from behind stage when I got there soon enough.

Right on cue, the old band had just finished their last song for the night and announced that Callum would be up next in a couple of minutes. I instinctively took another sip of the Pumpkin Juice in my hand and pulled a face as I realised I had just drank some more. Ew. I thought.

I pushed past the crowd of people and managed to get back stage to chat with Callum before he went up. "Oh good you're here. I'm starting to get really nervous." He spoke.

"Don't be. One, you're going to absolutely crush it up there and two," I grabbed a bottle of water and took a quick gulp before continuing, "I'll be right here to help. You have a great voice and people are going to love your song!"

"Thanks but aren't those bottle of water for us?" He raised an eyebrow and pointed to the bottle of water in my hand.

"I had to, I was going to die of thirst! All they served was Pumpkin juice and I hate Pumpkin." I exclaimed rather dramatically.

He shook his head. "Fine but I'm going to need the bottle back one you've finished with it so that McGonagall would think that I drank the water."

"Always the goody-to-shoes." I rolled my eyes playfully. "But seriously, have fun up there. Stop focusing on what could happen and instead focus on singing. Do something fun for yourself once in a while."

"Ok, ok I'll try. Thanks Y/l/n." He joked.

"Last name basis? Oh Merlin no!" I waited dramatically.

He rolled his eyes. "Maybe I'll see you in the crowd. Bye Y/l/n."

"Have fun Thomas!" I said and waved him goodbye as he walked on stage.

Loads of cheers erupted the crowd as he started to sing. I raced into the crowd in hopes of spotting someone to dance with when my eyes layed on a certain red-haired boy standing by the table and sipping something from his glass.

"Oh good, you're here just in time! Callum just staring performing and I need someone to dance with." I dragged Percy onto the dance floor by his wrist almost causing him to spill his drink.

"Are you crazy? I could have spilled my drink on my dress robes! My mother would have had my head!" He exclaimed. He was careful to place the glass down on the table before joining me back in the crowd. "And for your information, I'm only dancing with you because you're making me." He huffed.

"Oh stop being such a drama prince, I'm not making you! And your suit is fine." I said.

"Says you! You could be wearing a pijama set and still somehow manage to look beautiful." He replied.

I stopped dancing and stood in shock.

The realisation must have struck him by now as we was spewing out random scentences. "No not like that! I mean yes- but not like that. You're beautiful and I find you very pretty but now in a 'im attracted to you' kind of way?" He stuttered.

I laughed. "You look beautiful too Percy."

"I- but- shut up!" He murmured, trying to act offended but it failed miserably with a very noticeable blush forming on his face.

"See unlike you Percy, I'm not afraid to admit when I find someone attractive." I threw him a flirty wink as the song ended and I walked past the crowd to congratulate Callum on his performance, leaving a stunned and blushing Percy behind.
