Layla

5 months later...

I laughed at Landon as he death stared the man in front of us who pushed in.

He was about to pull him by the collar but I grabbed his hand telling him to stop.

We were currently standing in line for ice cream.

After the man had ordered, Landon ordered our usual.

We sat down at a table outside with our ice cream.

We ate in silence as the sun began to set.

I played with Landons hand as I watched people walk past us.

I look back over to Landon and smile at him.

He looks back at me blankly before taking my hand to his lips.

All of a sudden a raging pain runs through my body.

I flinch and hold onto my stomach.

I heard Landons chair move instantly as his arms came around my waist.

"Layla, what's wro-

That's when I felt it.

There was a puddle of liquid spilt down on the floor dripping down from my leg.

I look at Landon wide-eyed.

He stayed calm and helped me up as he walked us to his car.

Once we were in he zoomed off to the nearest hospital as I sat in the car seat, pain aching through my body.

"Miss Summers, we need you to push." The doctor tells me.

I scream in pain as I do as he says.

"Your doing great Layla, keep going." The nurse says.

Landons hand holds onto mine tightly, as I continue to push.

"Okay we see a head, keep going."

Eventually, the sound of a baby crying fills the room.

I pant heavily as release washes over me, but then it gets replaced with more pain.

"Okay, the other ones coming." The doctor says.

"Okay, breathe Layla, you can do this." The doctor says.

I push as hard as I could, screaming in the process.

The pain subsides and relief washes over me as my eyes begin to get heavy.

The sound of crying filled the room and with all the energy I have I open my eyes and look around the room.

The nurse comes over with two babies in either arm.

I hold my arms open weakly and she hands me the first one.

The nurse placed the baby in my arms and I look down to see my baby girl.

I smile weakly as tears prick my eyes.

Her crying stops and her eyes open, only to show
the most perfect set of grey eyes.

Landons grey eyes have now moved onto our girl.

The nurse then places my baby boy on my other arm.

Landons arm wraps around my shoulder as he kisses my forehead.

I look down at my boy and smile as I see my own pair of green eyes.

Our hands entwine together as he rests his head against my shoulder.

We look down at our babies and smile.

"I love you, Landon." I say looking up at him.

He smiles down at me, meeting my green eyes with his own grey ones.

"I love you, Layla."

The End.
