I felt a throbbing pain in my head as I opened my eyes.

I tried to adjust to the overwhelming brightness of the room.

I was laying on the floor.

As I sat up, I winced because the room suddenly felt like it was spinning.

I clutched my head and felt something. A cloth wrapped around.

A bandage?

I tried to recollect my thoughts.

Where was I and what had happened.

I looked around the room I was in. It was painted white and it was empty except for a brown leather couch.

I didn't recognise the room at all.

I tried to think back to what had happened.

I was in Jacob's truck with him and Renesme.

Then we crushed.

My eyes widened.

Where were they? What had happened after that?

I forced myself to my feet.

The room spun again and I noticed three more bandages. One wrapped around my upper left arm and the other two on my legs.

I winced again as pain shot through my body.

I had to lean on the wall for support.

I used the solid wall to slowly inch my way to the closed door. I tried the handle but it didn't budge.

It was locked.

Just as I had expected.

My worst fears were poking at my mind. Victoria and the new borns had found me.

But what had they done to Jacob and Renesme?

Still using the wall for support, I made my way to the other side of the room where a curtain hung hiding a window.

When I got there, I drew back the curtain and looked down.

I almost stumbled. In clear view outside was a dirty old sign. Almost indecipherable to someone who had never been here. But it was as clear as day to me.

'The Old Crows Motel'

I swallowed the bile that had threatened to rise and spill out.

I slowly lowered myself to the ground feeling more lightheaded than before.

This had to be Victoria. Who else would be this sadistic?

She wanted to kill me in the place where her mate had been killed because of me.

Where was she now though?

Why was it so quiet?

I begun to panic.

Did Renesme and Jacob get away or had she done something to them?

I really hoped for the former.

The car crash wouldn't have hurt them but what if Victoria had her army of new borns with her?

I suddenly heard a ringing sound and I jumped in fright.

I looked around to see where the sound was coming from until I spotted a small rectangular device on the brown couch.

I swallowed.

A phone?

Why would Victoria lock me in here with a phone?
