The Lair

I did feel like Jane's pet at the moment. No in fact, I felt like her doll.

She had completely played dress up with me.

She had thrown me into a tight and short  royal blue designer dress with lace sleeves. On my feet, she had put me into really high and studded black stilettos.

She didn't stop there, next she professionally added a few layers of make up on my face and ended by curling my hair.

I started to wonder if maybe 'the lair' was some kind of high class vampire brothel.

It's only when she got all dolled up herself that I figured she probably wasn't going to pimp me out.

She looked gorgeous in a short white strapless a line dress.

She let her already straight blonde locks loose from its tight pulled back style which made her look much younger.

It was then that I actually wondered how old she must have been when she was turned.
She didn't have to put make up on her own already flawless face but she did put on some ruby red lipstick and a dark eyeliner which only outlined and highlighted her beauty. What shocked me the most though was when she put blue contacts in her eyes.

If I didn't know any better, I'd have actually thought that was her real eye colour with the way it suited her.

"What are you looking at?" She snapped.
I didn't realise that I was staring.

I shook my head.

"Um... nothing... you just um... you look really nice."

She seemed taken a back by my words.

"All vampires are beautiful. It's part of the allure." She spoke in a hostile tone.

"Y-yeah, I-I know, I just... well that doesn't mean you shouldn't be complimented about it. Beauty is beauty."

She seemed genuinely shocked by my words. She didn't say anything, she just turned to look at herself in the mirror.

Did I say something wrong? I wondered.
I wasn't expecting her to keep quiet, I expected a snarky remark in some way.
Was complimenting a vampire an offence?

Fortunately, the awkward moment of silence that had settled between us disappeared when the door to Jane's room swung open and Alec walked in.

His eyes settled on me and he smirked as his eyes roamed my body hungrily.
I suddenly wished I was not standing up but there was no furniture in Jane's room. It was large and spacious but all that was in here was her walk in closet and a dresser filled with all the makeup any girl would want.

A few paintings hung on the wall too but other than that, it was empty.

"Don't you look delicious." He spoke as he smiled, making sure to show me his fangs.

Alec looked at me with his clear green contact lenses which was also a good look on him.
He wore black slacks, a blue polo sweater and a white expensive looking scarf was around his neck.

Jane rolled her eyes. "Are you ready to go or do you need another second to flirt with the human. If you even call that flirting."

"What would you know about flirting?" Alec asked his sister.

She seemed more offended by his words than I would have expected her to be.

From what I could tell, insulting each other was their thing.

"Lets just go." She grumbled as she shouldered her purse and walked towards me and pulled on my arm.

I don't think she realised how much strength she was using. It was a miracle that I didn't trip and fall right there.
