Road to Spider-man

(Spider-verse arc) Part 1

[3rd POV]

Lights flashing around the room accompanied by Rock music as the crowd is cheering for the band that's performing.

The song closed with an energetic drum solo before the crowd erupted in cheers once the solo ended.

Mc: "Give it up for the Mary Janes!!"

Amongst the crowd are two teenagers. One is wearing red shirt pants and glasses and one with a sling bag and a white hoodie with the hood up covering his face.

Y/n: "I don't get why I have to come here."

Peter: "Come on, lighten up! We're just here to let loose."

Y/n: "I can let loose when I'm painting something."

Peter: "And then what? Get chased by police?"   

Y/n: "Beats staying here."

Peter: "You gotta socialize more dude!"

Y/n: "Who the hell am I gonna talk to?"

Peter: "I don't know man just-, just give it a try."

Y/n then looked to see the band's blonde-haired drummer hugging a dark man before kissing him on the cheek

Peter: "So you haven't got over it yet. Tell you what, I'll just go there and congratulate a friend and we'll be on our way."

Y/n: *sigh* "Better make it quick."

Peter: "I will" *aloud* "Hey, MJ!"

Y/n: "and I'm regretting this already."

Y/n and Peter made their way to the Mary Janes as Peter went to their red-haired singer.

Peter: "Hey, that was awesome back there."

MJ: "Thanks, glad you enjoyed it"

MJ then looked behind Peter and saw Y/n standing to the side as he looks around trying to occupy himself

MJ: "So who's your friend?"

Peter: *looks over* "Oh him? That's Y/n, he's shy around new people."

MJ: "Do you mind if I talk to him?"

Peter: "Sure, to be honest, he needs someone to talk to besides me."

MJ: "Then let's hope I can help him out."

MJ and Peter then went over to Y/n before tapping his shoulder, gaining his attention.

Y/n: "Hmm? Done already."

Peter: "Not quite, Y/n, This is Mary Jane Watson. MJ this is Y/n."

MJ: "Hi, I'm Mary jane but my friends call me MJ."

Y/n: "So I've heard."

Y/n then let down his hood before putting his hand out as MJ shakes it formally.

Y/n: "I enjoyed your performance."

MJ: "Thanks, we've been getting lots of gigs lately and our drummer is doubling her practice time to get everything right. Like a new spark has lighted something inside her."

Y/n: "That's cool, I guess."

???: "Oh, is that him?"

The three then looked behind them and saw the same man with the drummer walk over to them.

???: "You must me Y/n, Up top!"

Y/n grabbed his raised hand before shaking it strictly.

???: "Oh, I'm Miles by the way. Miles Morales."
