I gazed at my reflection in the mirror and smiled on how gorgeous I look. My hair was in a French twist and the M.A.C make up I applied really looks good on me.
Vainness, huh? I smirked mentally.
"Av! Are you done? Ang tagal mo naman!" Narinig ko ang maarteng sigaw ng bestfriend ko na si Mina mula sa labas. Mula sa gilid ng aking mata ay nasulyapan ko ang kanyang pagpasok sa aking silid.
"Just a minute!" Hindi ko siya tiningnan at nag focus na lang sa paglalagay ng aking diamond stunned pearl earring sa harap ng vanity mirror.
"You're gorg, Av!" Mina beamed and leaned to see my necklace properly.
"Thanks!" I checked myself again before facing Mina and gave her a once-over.
She, too is beautiful on her red casual dress. The only jewelry she wore is a Cartier watch. Lagi naman siyang ganyan. So simple yet classy. Kahit yata basahan ang isuot niya ay nagsusumigaw pa rin ang karangyaan sa ugat niya.
Feeling ko tuloy, I'm a bit overdressed tonight for my brother's birthday party.
I shook away that thought. I always feel overdressed naman basta si Mina ang kasama ko, eh.
We went down into our garage and there, I saw Mina's favorite Chevrolet. We decided to use her car papunta sa dock where the Beaux is docking, my brother's yacht. Doon nito napiling icelebrate ang kanyang 28th birthday.
Malayo pa lang pero dinig na dinig na ang malakas na music na nagmumula rito. We were assisted inside by the staff that the organizer hired for this event.
Agad ko namang nakita ang ilan sa mga kaibigan ko. Shelly and Lisa were the one who spotted me first. I secretly rolled my eyes, iiwasan ko na sana sila pero mabilis pa sa kidlat na lumapit sila sa amin.
Well, they were actually not my friends. They're just some social climbers who want to get close to my brother and my family.
They greeted me and tried to make beso pero pasimple kong iniwas ang sarili sa kanila.
“Avy! 'Buti nakaabot kayo, akala ko hindi na kayo makakarating,” Lisa said. Her voice is so annoying talaga.
I just smirked.
“Well of course, I wouldn't miss my brother's party, right?”
They answered my statement with their fake smiles and laughter. The only genuine emotion I can see in them is the envy in their eyes everytime it landed on my necklace and my earring. At para mas lalo silang mainggit, I named all my jewelry to them and emphasized how much they cost.
