I can still hear those men following us.

“Alam na nila dahil tumakbo tayo.”

“Bakit naman kasi tayo tumakbo? We can just act like we are not the thief!” I said, frustrated.

He also stopped at nilingon ako.

“What if we're trapped?” nagpa-panic na tanong ko.

Binitawan niya ang aking kamay and cupped my face with his both hands.

“Walang tao roon. Kung magmamadali tayo, hindi nila tayo maabutan,” hinihingal na paliwanag niya but still calm and certain.

“Magtiwala ka, makaka-alis tayo rito.” He smiled and pressed an assuring kiss on my forehead.

Tumango-tango ako.

“Okay,” I said and we continued running.

“Do you know the directions?” I asked.

I became more distressed by his answer. Pero wala namang mangyayari if I keep complaining. All we have to do is cooperate and figure out this puzzle.

After five minutes of half running and walking, we encountered the difficult part in this maze. Panting, I ignored the burning feeling behind my throat.

There are four paths in front of us. And we have to decide fast on which one we have to take. Kung basta na lamang kaming pipili at mali iyon ay maaari kaming maligaw or ma-trap, and that means, those guys will catch us.

I looked up at Halcon who was staring at the four paths, contemplating on which one is the right path.

“Nasaan kayo? Wala na kayong pagtataguan!” They shouted, then followed by their evil laughs. Their voice is so close that I think nasa kabila lang sila.

And then our savior came. Despite the darkness, we were still able to see the form of a bird who landed on the third path.

“Oh my gosh~” Blubar said, copying my maarte accent.

“Blubar!” I gasped excitedly in a soft voice.

“Oh my gosh~” he repeated, then flew off.
