"I've been searching for you for the last three and a half years," he started.
"I waited for you for four years. Bakit ngayon lang?"
"Bakit ngayon mo lang nakita ang mga pinta ko?"
"I don't know! I was so lost in my own grief and pain. Ayokong mabuhay ng ganoon so I made a life where your d*mn paintings are the least of my concern." Muling bumalik ang mga luha niya. Lumapit naman sa kanya ang kaibigan at inalo siya. Inilapag ni Mina ang dalang baso ng tubig at inabutan siya ng tissue.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I almost gave up," he said in a low voice and Gideon stared at Mina. Their eyes locked like they're having a secret conversation.
Hindi iyon nakita ni Avyanna dahil busy ito sa pagpupunas ng mga luhaang mata.
"Its fine, it's no one's fault. Ang mahalaga ay nagkita na tayo. Gusto ko lang tanungin, h-how is he? Is he a-alive?" Ni hindi niya masabi ang mga tanong nang maayos, fearing that the answers might broke her heart, this time, permanently.
Tumayo si Mina at iniwan sila to give them some privacy. While Gideon gave Avy a reassuring smile.
"He's fine, but he almost didn't make it."
"Oh, thank God!" she exclaimed. She almost lost her wits thinking and worrying about that matter. Saying to herself na okay lang na hindi niya ito makasama as long as he's okay and alive.
"But something happened to him before I left. Hindi ko alam kung ganoon pa rin siya hanggang ngayon."
"What do you mean? What is it?"
"He had a retrograde amnesia. He forgot the last six years of his life, and... that includes you."
Parang nabingi si Avyanna sa narinig. Ang mga luha niya ay ayaw ng lumabas. She felt numb.
"What?" She barely spoke the word sa sobrang hina ng pagkakasabi niya roon.
"But I don't know if he already recovered. There's a possibility that he have at baka naaalala ka na niya ngayon. The truth is, hindi din niya ako kilala noong una," agad na bawi ni Gideon nang makita ang blankong mukha ng babae sa harap niya.
"Also, you're the reason why they sent me here. To look for you," sabi niya pa.
But then wala ng ibang pumapasok sa isip ni Avyanna kung hindi ang isiping nakalimutan na siya ni Halcon.
She can't help the bitterness crawling in her veins. If he does not remember me, then-
Gosh! She doesn't even want to think about it without breaking heart for the ninth time.
"What for? He doesn't remember me anyway. Why did they sacrifice you to come here? Wouldn't be less complicated if you left it that way?"
"They did not sacrifice me, it's my choice. I did it for my brother."
