If you had asked Ayla Hale if it was possible for her junior year to get more complicated, she would've naively said no. No way could things get worse. They had lost both Erica and Boyd to the alpha pack, almost lost Scott and Derek to them, and barely defeated the darach and Deucalion. And to do so they had had to sacrifice three of their friends- who all fortunately came back from the dead as planned. She had broken up with the first person she ever really cared about, and then kissed her best friend's ex in the same week. Then she had moved in with her dad while her uncle went missing for what had to be the hundredth time during his trip to South America to drop off Cora. Things couldn't possibly get more complicated for her.
Yet things got more complicated. Derek's missing, her friends are suffering supernatural side effects from being used as sacrifices, she has no idea where she's at with Scott, and her ex is crushing on a new girl with mysterious powers. But it all gets even worse when she finally realizes that an evil spirit has taken over one of her best friends.
