Hunter x Shapeshifter! Reader

(Y/n)'s POV

To be living another day in the Demon Realm, I'm a shape-shifting witch. Clearly Emperor Bellos is after every single witch in this world to enter his coven to create world domination and one of those witches are me.

There's nothing much to my power but i'm trying to pass some of them with Eda's apprentice Luz, I always go to the Owl House to teach Luz and got sold off to a challenge for a living with Eda.

It was a easy challenge, I turn into a cat with a gem that the player must get to retrieve a prize it could be an object from Eda's shop or a request. Well we know Eda had to find some chances to get money to support her family.

And i'm just here to help them cuz I don't have anything to do anyways, besides I like doing it to be honest. Seeing the players bow down and struggle with me sure is nice. The feeling of being dominant really takes up my pride in a higher place.

Today we're going to do it again the "Cat catch" same place near the owl house, same price and same reward. No one has ever beaten this game of ours since our customers are a try hard to get me.

The only way that can get me is to be nice from start to the end, not be nice and go wild just to grab the gem on my neck that would likely look as if they're gonna snap my head off from snatching it.

I waited for Eda to set up and Luz bring in people as I sat on the barrel as I stared at the people coming to think they can win me, but there's someone i wasn't expecting to show up.

It was the Golden Guard along with its troupes, I looked at Eda who was surprised as well. "So what kind of act are you putting up now?" He asks to Luz.

"Oh! Its just a simple game y'know? Just get the gem around that cat's neck and you'll get a prize it can be from Eda's shop or a request" Luz happily explained.

Then he lifted his hand up to his chin and looked at me that just sent shivers down my spine, "I'm expecting there would be a fee to this game of yours?" He said crossing his arms.

"Well there is! Good guess brat, its only three coins and you're good to go" Eda perks as she placed her hand on her hips smiling, "Hmm, sure let's see" he murmur.

Then Eda and Luz went up to their places on stage, "Alright! Good day to you all people participating in this game, the rule is just get that gem on that cat's neck and you'll win" Eda explained pointing her staff towards me.

King went up to me and tied the gem on my neck, "Show em who's boss again (y/n)" King cheers and left. "First participant come up on stage!" Luz announced.

The person went up to stage as he cautiously walked up to me "there, there kitty kitty" he cooed then I let out a snarl and that just chickened him out.

People continued to come in stage and tried to get my gem but I didn't let them since they're being stubborn snatching and grabbing me, some chickened out and here comes the Coven scouts turns.

I ran around them till they got dizzy and have them knocked by barrel to barrel and some boxes to annihilate them one by one and I jump on the barrel i once sat on proudly smirking.

"Such fools can't even tame a cat" The golden guard scoff as he stepped on stage and went up to me, he reached out his hand and started rubbing under my chin.

'Ha! You think I will---oh ho ho I never thought this would feel good' i thought as I leaned my head closer but I came to realization that I quickly moved away stepping back.

'I shall not be fooled!' I thought then a hand started scratching my back real good it was so soothing I had to lie down then I could feel the gem off my neck.

"I win" he announced holding the gem on his hand, I stretched in delight that it was a good scratch as a cat. I looked at Luz and Eda who are shocked them i gave them a shrug.

Then I sat back up as he came closer to me again and gave me a pat "Such a good girl" he cooed smiling then I couldn't help but get caught off guard to be flustered.

"Our first winner! The golden guard..so brat child what do you want?" Eda said non challantly.

"I have a request" he replied.

"What's your request then?" Luz asks.

"I want to see (y/n) (l/n) the shape shifting witch of Latissa" he answered, then they all looked rather surprised again to hear his request, then I looked at him rather concerned.

"Well we need to know the reason first kid" Eda protest crossing her hands, "Its a personal problem..it would only be a five minute talk and we're done" he stated.

Then Eda looked at me if I would allow him or not, he said it would be a five minute talk so I nodded and she let out a sigh. "Alright, tomorrow come to the owl house all by yourself".

"Got it..i'll come back tomorrow same time as today".

He turned and left the place along with his troupes, after they got far I shape shifted back to a human still sitting on the barrel as I lifted my hand up to rest my chin on it.

"Curious" i murmur.

"Hey, why did you let him win?" Eda asks.

"He gave me a good back scratch okay? As a cat it worked on me" i explained getting off my seat, and grabbed my staff at the side. "It was fun today i'll see you all tomorrow again".

Today i'm gonna have a face to face talk with the Golden Guard, Eda let us use the spare room she had in her house and I stood by the window to look around outside.

Then I heard a creek by the door and I turned around to see the golden guard, "It has been a long time..(y/n)" he said as stood in front of me.

"The famous Golden Guard, why do you seek my presence today?"  I ask as I took off my hood revealing my (h/c) (h/l) hair as I looked at him straight in the eyes with my (e/c) eyes.

Then he let off a chuckle "It looks like you haven't changed at all, as if its like being mysterious is your thing" he said.

"Do I suppose to know who you really are?".

"Aww, you don't remember me anymore? I thought you'd miss me" he tease as he took off his mask and revealed his ash-blonde hair and dark magenta eyes.

My eyes widen to see him, "Hunter?" I call rather confused then his mouth carved out a smile. "It has been a while (y/n), I've been searching for you everywhere till I stumbled on Eda's play show and found you" he said.

"Wha? How?".

"I always remember your shape shift as a cat it would always bs the color of my hair with no stripes".

"You remembered that?"

"Of course I do, that's how you first met me in Latissa back when we were kids...after being taken in by Emperor Bellos I thought I lost you, I searched everywhere for you".

"Why would you do such a thing?" I ask rather curious then he stepped closer to me and held my hand, "Because there was something I felt in you that was the most beautiful thing I ever felt in my whole life of despair".

"What would that be?" I ask clenching his hand softly.

"Comfort...and affection, you never left my side when I was lost in Latissa. We may be kids back then but I have never felt the things you have given me each day" he confessed.

I looked at him as a rush of warm feeling rushed in my cheeks, "I know this is only a 5 minute talk..but thank you for coming" he said as he turned around to leave but i held his hand.

"When? When did you came looking for me?" I ask.

"Ever since I got taken in the Castle, I always came looking for you..I even thought would I even have chances with you" he said chuckling.

"Y-you do actually" i answer stuttering and very much flustered, then he turned around to face me and I gazed softly at his dark magenta eyes.

"I-I thought you forgot about me"

"Never.."

Then he came closer and pulled my head to lean on his chest "I swore to search in each widths in this world just to find you" He said softly.
