A/N- I didn't realize until I published this that I had already done 2 Genshin characters so it was time for 2 Heaven's Official Blessing characters. Whatever, this is the last Genshin male character I need to write for anyway, so I might as well get his oneshot done.

YOUR BOYFRIEND BENNETT had been unlucky for most of his short life. This was a fact you knew. He accepted it, but you knew how many people hated him for that. You knew how much their hatred hurt him as well, so you always tried to keep him away from the people that disliked him. But nowadays, that number was pretty much everyone in Mondstadt. Some people even blamed Stormterror's attack on the city on Bennett's bad luck, which you thought was ridiculous, but which many other people viewed as the gospel truth.

One night, Bennett insisted on going to Angel's Share to buy you some of your favorite apple cider, which was best in the beginning of the autumn season. You begged him to stay home, as people on the streets had been talking about jumping him with weapons and killing him to rid the city of its bad luck, but he refused to listen, and went outside into the crisp, cool autumn night.

The stars were shining brightly in the sky, and it was a full moon, which meant that the streets and houses were clear in your view. You waited and watched to see Bennett coming up the street to your house, but when he didn't come home after ten minutes, you got worried, and went to Angel's Share to go look for him.

Diluc was bartending that night, and he was a kind man who didn't share the anger towards your lover. He told you that he hadn't seen Bennett come into the bar for the 5 hours that he had been working there. He suggested that maybe he had gone to the Cat's Tail, but you knew that Bennett would never lie to you. Your heart began to beat fast with anxiety, and you raced around the entirety of the city looking for Bennett, and couldn't find him. This terrified you, and you decided to just wait at home so as not to stress yourself out more.

When you got home, you fell asleep as soon as you sat down on the couch. You were planning to stay awake until Bennett came home, but you had gotten seriously sleepy from walking around Mondstadt at night, so you fell asleep against your will.

You opened your eyes to the sound of quiet sobs and the feeling of soft hair touching your cheek. When you opened your eyes, you saw Bennett lying across your chest crying, holding a dirty goblet overflowing with what seemed to be water with apple slices and peels in it. He had cuts all over his arms, and his knees were skinned. He looked to have taken quite a beating, and your anxiety returned again.

You got up and pushed him off you, making him lie down on the couch in your place. You got bandages to cover his wounds with, and all that time, he didn't speak, just kept on sobbing. When you finished bandaging him up, you took the goblet from his hand and looked at it more clearly. You noticed grains of sugar lying on the bottom, and the water smelled faintly like it had alcohol in it.

"Benny, did you try to make apple cider for me on your own?" you asked the boy, who had stopped sobbing and now was just crying.

"N-n-no... I d-didn't..." he said through his tears. His voice sounded thick, as if he had a ball of cotton on his tongue. Had he been poisoned or forced to swallow a harmful substance? You didn't doubt that some people would want to hurt him in that way. You had heard people talking of killing him, after all.

"Then what is this?" you asked.

It dawned on you right after you asked the question what the drink was. It was supposed to be apple cider, but Bennett's bad luck must have somehow transformed it into this terribly mixed mess of apples, sugar, alcohol, and water.

"Oh, my baby, I'm so sorry," you murmured gently, running your fingers through his soft hair.

He whimpered when you touched his head, and when you pulled your fingers away, you noticed blood dripping from them.

That's why his voice sounds that way, you realized. He got his head beaten up. He probably has brain damage or something.

Seeing such terrible wounds on the man you loved made you burst into sobs. You didn't cry much, so seeing you cry made Bennett freak out. He patted you on the shoulder, rubbed your back, tried to communicate to you that it was alright through touch, but you wouldn't stop crying.

With effort, he managed to speak to you as clearly as possible.

"Th-the cider.... i-it was a-all gone a-and I... I asked for so-some more a-and they said, 'no more...' they... and then they said 'no more...' 'no more...'

He started to slur his words and mumble incoherently, and you were sure now that he had some type of brain damage. You decided to wait until the next day, then bring him to the church to see Barbara. If anyone could heal him, she could.

"Please, Benny," you prayed, "rest well. This will all be solved tomorrow."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, you awoke early and carried Bennett's sleeping body to the church, where Barbara was ready and willing to heal him.

She complimented your good job of bandaging and disinfecting the wounds, and looked very concerned by the head wound he had received. Her concern made you concerned, but in the end, she managed to heal everything just with her singing. Now the only thing that remained was to wait for Bennett to wake up...

"Y/N..."

You were awoken from your reverie by hearing Bennett's voice calling your name. You snapped your eyes open and saw him sitting up on the mattress he had been lying down on, a smile on his face. You cried out in happiness and threw your arms around him.

"I'm so sorry..." he said, his voice shaking. "There was no cider, so Diluc just gave me the remnants of the ingredients and told me to mix them together. I was going to bring them home and mix them there for you, but on the way I was attacked. I vaguely remember hearing you cry and trying to comfort you, but it's just hearing. I can't see you in that memory... now I can. It must have been an issue with my head wound blocking my vision. Anyways, I'm so sorry. My bad luck ruined everything."

"I don't care a fig about the apple cider. I'm just so happy that you're safe," you said, not letting go of your hold on him for fear that he would leave alone.

His eyes shone with happiness and he said, "You don't hate me for not being able to get that cider for you?"

"Hate you? Bennett, you're the only man I'll ever love. I could never hate you. Don't even mention it."

After hearing this, Bennett started to cry again.

But this time, they were happy tears.
