A/N- That picture I can't... I want to hug him and tell him it's all going to be okay, poor baby has been through so much and is so strong...

EVER SINCE HE had returned to Lotus Pier, Wei Wuxian had been different. He barely spoke, he barely ate, and he was barely seen out in public. You were one of his greatest friends, and you visited him almost every day to make sure he was alright. You knew how much he loved you, on bad days he would sob about it and talk about how he would kill himself if you died.

Today was worse. Lan Zhan had just left for Cloud Recesses for business, and although he had promise to Wei Wuxian that he would return, Wuxian was terrified. He took to his room, locked his door, and laid down on his bed, disassociating from the world.

His adopted sister, Jiang Yanli, was very worried about him, so she went to your house, which was near to theirs, and begged you to come comfort him, which you would do gladly. Wei Wuxian was one of your greatest friends. The two of you were like soulmates. If you were hurt, so was he, and if he was happy, so were you. You couldn't let him be in so much pain. It gnawed at your heart.

When you arrived at the Jiang clan's home, Jiang Cheng, Wuxian's adopted brother, met you with the news that Wuxian would let nobody into his room, not even you. You begged him to ask Wuxian again, but he said that Wuxian said he would hurt himself if he was forced to accept the presence of someone in his room, and that he was afraid to hurt his brother.

You were devastated by this news, and you rushed to Wuxian's room and began to pound on the door.

"Wuxian! You need to let me in! I don't want you hurting yourself."

He didn't respond, and you got more and more concerned as the seconds ticked by. Finally, you decided to just kick the door open. You charged the door with all your might, and it fell to the floor along with you.

You got up quickly, and saw Wuxian sitting on his bed staring at nothing. He had taken the bandage off his scarred arm, revealing his scars, still blood red after so many years. His hair was tangled, he had tears in his eyes, and he looked like he hadn't eaten in a week. Seeing him this way made you feel broken inside.

Gently, you ran your fingers over his bony arms. He shuddered a bit when you first touched him, but other than that, he didn't respond at all.

"Wuxian... please, Wuxian, say something," you begged.

He didn't answer, so you decided to try again, this time referencing his family members and those he loved.

"Wuxian, Jiang Cheng is very worried about you."

No response. Just silence.

"Wuxian, Yanli was crying earlier for you."

That got his attention. Presence suddenly flashed back into his eyes, and he was no longer disassociated, but back in the real world.

"Shije!" he cried out. "Lan Zhan!"

He was trembling and the tears were coming down faster now. You sat down on the bed next to him and wrapped your arms around him, pressing his head to your shoulder.

"Lan Zhan's not here, Wuxian," you said.

He kept on screaming Lan Zhan's name, regardless of your words. It was as if he didn't hear you.

Yanli, hearing her nickname being called, rushed into the bedroom. When she saw the state of her brother, she began to cry again.

"S-shije..." Wuxian whimpered, leaning over the bed to try and reach his sister. "Y-yanli shi-shije..."

Yanli looked up at her brother, who was leaning so far over he was about to fall. She screamed and ran out of the room, her face buried in her hands.

"SHIJE!" Wuxian screeched, reaching out once more and falling onto the floor.

"Wuxian, your sister was just a little shocked by the way you looked, alright? How long was it since you last ate?"

"I-I... um... I-"

You could sense that it was hard for him to talk about his eating habits. He looked as if he was disassociating again. But you needed to know how long it had been since he last ate, so you could take care of him.

"Please," you pressed. "I know it hurts, but you need to talk to me about it."

"A-a week a-ago..." Wuxian whispered, sounding ashamed.

"A week!" you screamed, shocked.

"D-don't h-hate m-me..." Wuxian whimpered. "I-I l-love you..."

"Oh, Wuxian... you think I hate you because I yelled?" you said.

"I... I love you," he repeated. "I love you... s-so much."

"Wuxian, don't disassociate on me right now! I need to talk to you! Wuxian!"

It was too late. He had already mentally exited your world. Now you just needed to wait for him to snap out of it...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Y/N! Y/N!"

You opened your eyes to see Wuxian holding onto you and crying out your name. He looked pretty terrifying leaning over you like that, but all you could think about was how much pain he was in currently.

"My Wuxian," you said, a smile on your face. "I'm here. What do you need?"

"Y/N... I-I was s-so afraid... y-you... and I... I can't!"

"You can't talk right now," you told him. "That's alright. It's alright. I know what you mean. I'll never leave you, Wuxian."

"B-but you... i-in my m-mind y-you..."

"Hush. The things that your mind says to you, the things it makes you see, are all lies. I will never leave you, Wuxian. Never."

Wuxian held tightly onto you, not letting you go. You felt slightly uncomfortable with this, but if it comforted him, you would let him hold onto you for as long as he needed.

"I love you," he murmured. "I love you."

"I love you too, my Wuxian. Forever and always."
