A/N- It's time to give this man some appreciation as well. Also, this takes place when Lan Zhan and Wei Ying are lost in the cave with Lan Zhan's ancestor lady (forgot her name, I think it's Lan Yi or something).

LAN XICHEN LOVED his younger brother Lan Zhan with all his heart. Everyone knew this.

So when Lan Zhan got lost, along with Wei Wuxian, the Jiang clan disciple, Xichen's heart was broken.

You, his significant other, were the only thing that could get it back together again.

You had a big task awaiting you...

"Lan Wangji! Lan Wangji!"

You were tired, and your throat hurt. You and Xichen had been searching for Lan Wangji, Second Young Master of the Lan clan, for hours, and it was now nighttime. You wanted nothing more than to sleep, but Xichen wouldn't rest. He pressed on, searching for his brother, crying out his name as loudly as he could, even though his throat was killing him as well. Whenever you tried to comfort him, he pushed you away, and you were getting tired of that as well.

Finally, you just fell to the ground, too tired to continue. Xichen whirled around and panicked when he saw you on the ground, lying motionless.

"Y/N! Please, my love, you can't fall like this! We have to find Wangji before it gets too cold, or he'll freeze!"

"Wangji, Wangji, and more Wangji," you snapped, out of patience. "All you care about is Wangji. You don't even care if you tear the soles of your feet off from the amount of walking you're doing, or if you die from exhaustion. All you care about is Lan Wangji. How foolish can you be?"

Tears began to spring to Xichen's eyes, and he sunk to the ground on his haunches and covered his face with his long blue sleeves. You reached out to touch him, and this time he didn't pull away. Gently, you ran your fingers over his jaw, his cheeks, the underside of his wrists, pressing into his skin as possessively as if you owned him.

"My Xichen. It'll be fine," you said, trying to soothe him. "I'm sorry I snapped at you. I'm just so tired. We've been walking for the entire day with no sign of your brother. Maybe we should sleep and continue looking for him once we've regained our energy. Looking for him when you feel as if you're dying won't benefit anyone- not him nor you. Please, my love, yield to me just this once."

Xichen sighed a deep, sad sigh and collapsed to the ground next to you, wrapping his arms around you.

"Are you cold?" he asked you.

"A little," you said.

Without hesitation, Xichen slipped his headband off his head and placed it on yours. Warmth flooded through your body, and you felt as if you were cocooned in a hug.

"My headband keeps me warm, but I don't need it," he said. "You can take it."

"You're too kind, Xichen," you said, trying to take the band off of your head.

"No," he said, grabbing your wrist and squeezing it hard, stopping the motion of your arm to your head. "Keep it on. I'll hug you for warmth if I need it."

You smiled at him and once again said, "You're too kind."

Cocooned in the warmth of the headband, it was easier to fall asleep.

But you were awakened earlier than you had hoped by Xichen's screams.

"Wangji! Wangji, where were you? I was so worried, I could barely sleep!"

Hearing Xichen crying out Wangji's name made your eyes shoot open and made your body sit up. Reflexively, you grabbed your weapon at hearing the yells, but when you saw Xichen standing there with his arms wrapped around his brother, who looked unhurt, you dropped your sword and ran to them.

"Second Young Master Lan," you said, bowing to him.

"L/N Y/N," he said, bowing to you in response. "Thank you for taking care of Xichen."

You gave Wangji a pleasant smile. He was a kind and honorable fellow. You liked him.

"It's not a problem. He's my boyfriend, after all," you said.

Xichen let go of his brother and looked at you, a blush clearly showing pink on his cheeks.

"Thank you for helping me find Wangji," he said, giving you a small kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too, Xichen," you said. "Forever and always."

A/N- Sorry this is so bad, I was rushing myself to get it done because I really didn't feel like writing, but I had to finish the chapter. I promise you I'll write a better one next time.
