Chapter 15: 100 list

Natsu's POV

I stare at her always. I dreamed of her. My day is incomplete without her. I feel weird around her. Her smile brightens up my day. I don't know what's happening to me. My life changes when I met her. I know this is what I want but I don't want this thing that Gray told me.

This is the week I've been waiting for. I've always been at the top. Its midterms week again for this semester. I still aim to be the 1st in the Academy. That's why I'm starting to study really hard.

"Senpai! Natsu-senpai!" Lucy yelled at the corridor

"Shh.. No yelling at the corridor." I said placing my index finger in my lips as a signal for her to be quiet

"Senpai, you are always in first in 100 list in exams right?" She said really excited

"Yeah, what are you excited about?" I asked

"I also aim to be 1st in the 100 list in our batch!" She said

"Oh? Is that a challenge?" I said

"Just see, my name is going to be placed on 1st. Gahahahaha." She laughs like an evil witch. I just smiled at her, and suddenly I remember something and my expression changed. I just look at my shoes.

"Alright let's make a bet!" I said seriously looking at her

"Bet? What is it like the loser will become an assistant for the whole month or maybe will buy lunch every day?"

"no. It's not."

After I talked to Lucy I went to the library to study. I stop thinking of almost everything and I just focused on what I'm studying. Tomorrow is the first exam so I need to study double time.

"Oh? Lucy-chan is not around today huh Natsu?" Lisanna said as she sits beside me

"She needs to beat me first before she gets to hang out with me again." I said while trying to write some notes on my notebook.

"beat you? Beat you on what?" She said and rests her head on her fist

"In academics. I'm sorry Lisanna but can we talk later, I'm trying to study." I said

"Okay, sure." She said and left maybe she returned to her desk and read some books.

I went home early and cook our dinner. Romeo came down and went to the kitchen.

"Natsu-nii is Lucy-nee coming here again?" he asked and I stop on stirring the stew when I heard her name

"Not for a while. Why do you asked?" I take a taste on the stew and it's perfect.

"Nothing, I just want to hang out with her again."

"Do you want to eat now?" I asked changing the topic; I don't want to talk about her anymore

" Yes please. I'm hungry because we had our game earlier." He said and went out the kitchen; he's going to call Happy to come down

"I don't know if I'm doing the right thing or not." I said and sighted

I woke up early and went to school to study before the exams. I change my shoes in the shoe locker and someone came in. It's Lucy.

"Morning. Good luck on your test." I said

"Okay thanks, you too." She said and I went to my classroom

Lucy's POV

He really is serious about that bet. I don't like our situation now. I want my Natsu-senpai back; I don't know what's gotten into him to make that bet. But I'm not going to lose, I will try to succeed in aiming for the 1st place in this exams. I didn't get a chance to sleep yesterday, I keep on reviewing because I also can't sleep because Natsu's words keeps on ringing on my mind. I don't want to lose Natsu. He became my best friend and I don't want our times together just stay as memories of the past.

"Wow Lu-chan you're here early?" Levy-chan said. The twins just arrived in the classroom

"Yeah! I'm studying for the exams."

"Your amazing Lucy-san." Wendy said

"hahahaha I'm not that amazing I just really need to be at first." I said and focused on what I'm studying.

We are taking the first exam right now. It's kinda long and some of the questions are written in kanji. I can't understand some of them. I forgot most of them when we returned back in America. But I still did my best to answer every question intelligently.

1st exam is finished and we are given a short break and then we are going to start on our second test.

"How was the test Lucy-san?" Wendy asked

"It's a little hard for me to read the kanji words." I said

"That's right, Lucy is from America right? Don't worry I'm sure the professor will consider your answers." Levy-chan said

"hahaha I hope so." We just eat a little snack inside the classroom and I review for the second test. Next test is Math, I can handle this because I'm pretty good at Math, and the previous subject was History.

Juvia's POV

I see that Lucy is trying hard to work on her test so I didn't bother to disturb her. Juvia just also focus on her review.

After the entire 3 test we had, Juvia's mind is exhausted. I went to Gray-sama's classroom, I even invited Lucy but she refuse.

"Gray-sama!" I called and he went to Juvia immediately and Natsu-san is behind him

"Natsu-san, do you want to join us?" I invite him

"No thanks Juvia, I'm going to review for the next test." He said and went his way

"What's wrong with him?" I asked

"Don't mind him Juvia. More importantly can you massage my head? My mind exploded earlier." Gray-sama said begging with puppy eyes. Who can resist his puppy eyes?

"Sure Gray-sama! Let's go!" Gray-sama and I went to the field where we always spend our time during breaks

"Gray-sama do you think that there is something about Lucy and Natsu-san?" Juvia asked as I massage Gray-sama's head while he rest his head on my lap

"Huh? I don't know? Why do you say so?" he said

"Juvia noticed that they are avoiding each other..."

"Why do you say that?"

"Look." I pointed the direction of Natsu-san and Lucy. Gray-sama lifts his head and looks at them.

"They just passed by each other without saying a word. And they look awkward to each other." Juvia said

"You're right." He said and lay his head on Juvia's lap again "Don't worry too much about them, maybe they just have some misunderstanding." I massage his forehead again

"Juvia is still worried about them."
