Chapter 23: She is my Friend

Natsu's POV

After Gray talked to me about Lucy, I went first to the Student Council office.

"Good Morning." I greeted everyone

"Oh! Good Morning Natsu-san!" Jellal said while arranging some papers

"Is Erza here?" I asked

"She's meeting someone at the Faculty Room. We have a transfer student you see and Erza-sama is going to tour her around." Yukino said and handed me a paper. Yukino is our secretary "Here is the checklist for the greenhouse. Erza-sama said that you are in charge for today." She added

"Oh yeah Thank you Yukino." I said and went out the SC office.

"I heard that the transfer student is from the Edolas Academy."

"Yeah and she's quite a delinquent."

"That's why she was kicked out of her Academy because of her attitude. We heard that she even beat up the whole soccer club."

"No she's not. She's a demon."

"Yeah! Too bad because she's cute."

As I walk through the greenhouse I heard the student's conversation. Is that student the one that Yukino said? I was just about to turn around the corner when I heard Lucy's voice.

"I said I don't want to! I'm waiting for someone here!" I hurriedly pass around this corner and saw Lucy surrounded by guys some delinquent. I know them, I seen their profile in the Student Council.

Gajeel Redfox, their leader. I know that he was the greatest bully in the Academy. Rouge Cheney, Gajeel's underling and Panther Lily also his underling. I know that he never treat them as real friends but mere underlings.

"Come on baby we are just going to have some fun." Gajeel held Lucy's right arm.

"Let me go! You're hurting me!" she yelled

"I'm sure you are going to have some fun too." Lily said crossing his arms.

These guys are making my blood boil. Don't they know how to treat ladies? I drop my things on the floor and approach them. But why do I act like a wimp. Damn I hate the atmosphere at school! I can't even show what I am feeling right now. I'm totally going to kick this guy's ass.

"Lucy." I said and she looked surprised to see me

"Natsu!" she said and Gajeel and his underlings looked at me like they are going to eat me alive

"Huh? Who is this guy?" Gajeel said glaring his eyes on me

"A nerd? Is he the one you are going to meet?" Rouge said

"hahahahaha, Don't make me laugh! You like this nerd more than us?" Gajeel laugh really hard with opened mouth

"No! He's not the one I'm waiting for." She said softly with a sad expression on her face

"If you are not the one she is waiting for, get lost nerd! Who is this girl to you anyway? Your girlfriend? Hahahahaha." Gajeel said again and I'm really getting pissed. I just looked at Lucy but she is looking down.

"No! S-S-S-She's my friend!" I said shuttering while holding my glasses on my eyes "Let go of her please." I asked nicely while trying to get Lucy

"What if I said no? What are you going to do huh? You're just a nerd." Gajeel said leaning his ugly face at me

"Let me go! You ugly monkey!" Lucy yelled and Gajeel glare at Lucy. He looked really pissed.

"What did you just call me?"

"Ugly Monkey! Now let me go!" Lucy struggled

"Shut up bitch!" Gajeel slap Lucy and veins started popping on my forehead. I'm really angry right now.

"Now you've done it. I asked you nicely but you didn't listen. You even hurt Lucy, so let her go now!" I yelled while looking down to the ground clinching my fist

"Huh? Why would we do that?!" I heard that Panther Lily said

"This is the last time I'm going to asked you nicely. Please let her go."

"hahahahaha! Now the nerd is angry!" Rouge exclaimed

"What are you going to do nerdy?"

"You're going to save your princess?"

"Why do you even bother, you're no much for the three of us."

"This is also the last time I'm going to tell you this..." I said from the bottom of my breath and took off my glasses and my coat and put them down to the ground. I loosen my tie and slowly walk toward them.

"Ohhoho! The nerd is scary!" and Rouge run to charge at me and I duck to dodge his punch.

I stand up again and upper cut Rouge. "because Lucy is MY FRIEND!!!" I yelled with that punch

Gajeel charge at me also trying to punch me but I caught his arm and punch him in the stomach. Lily got mad when I punch his leader and attack me. Every punch that he throws didn't even land at me. I manage to dodge each one of them.

"Are you done?" I asked and blow a real punch on his face

I continue to beat the crap out of these thugs until they stop on hitting me even if they didn't even land a punch on me. I look at them lying on the ground with my frowning eyes.

"Don't ever mess with me again." I said with a death glare on my eyes. And they all tried to stand up and run for their lives.

I approach Lucy who is sitting on the ground. I offer her my hand and I'm surprised that she takes it, instead of slapping my hand. That is what I'm expecting to get from her.

"Are you alright?" I asked awkwardly

"y-yeah! Thank you..." she said not looking at me

This is a really awkward situation. I just turn back and picked up my glasses and coat.

"u-um...-"

"What happened to you? Why didn't you fight back? Didn't you just kicking the asses of Loke and his friends earlier?" I asked cutting her. I don't want her to speak first

"H-Huh?" Is she playing dumb or what? Wait a minute I just noticed that this Lucy is different from what I've met earlier and in the park. She is neat and tidy. Her coat is buttoned and her inside polo is tucked in.

"What's going on here? It can't be that there are two Lucy's?!" I yelled as I scratch my head with confusion

"W-what did you just said?"
