Fiery Flames

Tarzan opens his eyes suddenly, awake from his visions.

The projection of his mother was now gone.

Intead it was replaced by some forest rabbits he saw staring at him curiously

Lifting his head off from the tree, he stands up on his fours facing the rabbits

"... hi there little ones"

He stretched out his hands as rabbits sniffs and they climb up on his palms

Tarzan feels a bit cold as he ponders "It is really cold out here...Why are you here?"

Then again they were al fluffy and hairy so they had an advantage. 'Heh yet another time when I regret not having hair on my body'

Tarzan became alerted after that when smelled something was coming

Having lived in the jungle his whole life, Tarzan developed exceptional abilities that would be impossible for other humans. He had a good sense of smell and hearing that excelled many human beings and allowed him to hear their talk. His senses have a good amont of range to them...it also helps that unlike the jungles, the forest had more open field.

The current smell was familiar...wolves again. There were three of them running towards their position

Tarzan quickly grabbed the rabbits including the big one and jumps upwards onto the the tree branches above

Holding the rabbits carefully as to not let them fall off, he looked down at the wolves who wont be able to come up there

Much to his surprise, they weren't going for him or the rabbits and simply continued running

He was confused before smelling some fire around the forest ut something was wrong

A strange purprle flame appears from the bushes the wolves were running from.

It descends and spreads on to the trees and grounds of the forest

The tree Tarzan was on caught on fire as he jumps off just in time before being scorched alive.

Tarzan places the rabbits down before motioning them to run as far as they can

He then watches at the living fire going after the fleeing wolves before suddenly it changes direction as it then goes after him instead

On a great speed too. He managed to jump away in time before leaping on the tree again where the fire followed him

He flees into the forest the opposite way form where the rabbits went as to draw the fire on himself

'Can this be Bruni? The fire spirit?'

It was very quick and flexible unlike the giants. It'll be a bit harder to deal with.

He was aware of what to do however. Fighting Bruni is one thing but it'll be one sided if he cant put out his flames first.

'I have to admit though, his fires warmed me up a bit'

He then used one of the branches to jump upward above the trees into the sky and luckily he was right.

Before he could land back however Bruni didn't fall back and jumped after Tarzan

He didn't had time to think before instinctively trying to catch Bruni

Unfortunately the palm of his hand got burned as he let go

He felt pain on his hand as he gritted his teeth and fell down

He quickly grabbed on one of the branches, it broke this time and he fell on the bush of leaves which softened his fall

The fire spirit tried to jump on top of him but he sidestepped and goes for the river

The fire spirit followed him all the way as he crawled over a big rock seeing river with frogs adn ducks who run away fearfully when he appeared

Bruni was jumping on the rock to ambush Tarzan who amsuhed the fire spirit instead

He splashed the big amount of water from the other side with his hands and legs whoch caught Bruni by surprise

Tarzan then corners the Fire Spirit to a crevice in a pile of rocks where it's flames somewhat dissolved revealing it to be a regular animal too, although it was some other lizard species he hadn't yet seen.

"You are Bruni right?"

The Fire Spirit gets scared and bursts fire that go to a nearby tree

"Wait! There is no need to fight...I promise I'm not your enemy..."

Tarzan gestures to the salamander that he means no harm, extending his burnt hand to him as a sign of goodwill.

Though cautious, Bruni reluctantly crawls up and slowly defuses the fire

The Spirit walks up to him and jumps into his palms, accidentally burning his hand due to his heat, but he manages to keep his calm

This act of trust and refusal for violence manages to calms down Bruni as well so the forest fire that disappears

"I'm sorry we had to meet like this...I just thoguht you were going to kill me"

The Fire Spirit licks(?) it's eye smiling at Tarzan who smiles back

"But I don't think you are doing this out of malice..."
He didn't think about it much before but why were the spirits so aggressive? From what he heard, the spirits were respected as powerfl but peaceful natural elements... yet for some reason they were acting all deranged.

'Ah ah ah aaaah'

The voice calls again

"That vocie again...right I shouldn't forget what I'm looking for."

He then notices Bruni was tilting his head and he realizes that Bruni can also hear the mysterious voice that has been calling her.

"You can hear it? Somebody's calling, do you know where have to go?

When the Spirit jumps off his palms, Bruni sets his body aflame and tilts his head in a certain direction

Bruni starts walking and Tarzan followed him on all his fours

I added rabbits wolves part because I seen Olaf At Home videos with olaf interacting with them. By the way there were also ducks and frogs in those videos which were quite informative. Not to mention having bears in previous chapters.
