The lights sparkled like glitter against a black canvas, perfume swifted through the air covering up any other stench, girls moved through each other slowly but deliberately. I was lost, honestly. When I first came in all they did was give me a vague description on what to do and where to go but I eventually got lost in the crowd of strangers. I knew nobody and nobody knew me.
"Are you lost?" A man dressed in a suit way too big for his small frame places his hand on my shoulder, gripping tightly. "I can help you." He had a wicked smile on his face that defiantly made my brain more alert.
"She's not lost. You can leave." I look behind me to find another man but this time more well-mannered with shoulder length hair but a stern face. The baggy suit eventually leaves grunting underneath his breathe that I wasn't able to understand. "Are you alright?"
"Um, yeah. Thank you." My voice was small compared to his seeing as he was more, what's the word, golden. "I'm Carmen."
"Ah, I hope that isn't your real name." He turns to look at me finally as a beam of light from above passes by flashing across his face just showing how truly beautiful he was. "A suggestion. Find a new name for yourself or guys like that will follow you everywhere you go."
