Olivia hummed along to her early 2000's playlist as she put the final touches on her makeup. With finals week quickly approaching, she was excited to get one last night out before messy buns and flash cards became the norm.

Once she was satisfied with the look, she went into the closet to grab her strappy sandals, coming out  just in time to hear the knock at the door.

"Coming!" she shouted as she cut the music. Rushing out into the dorm's common area, she double checked her hair at the mirror before turning to open the door.

"Hi," she smiled.

Before Spencer had a chance to return the greeting, she did a little twirl, allowing him to admire her look for the night.

"Damn," he muttered. She bit her bottom lip. Even after three years of dating, rendering him speechless never got old.

But the flirty moment was short-lived. Her smiled dropped when she realized that he was not dressed for their date. Instead, he was still wearing his GAU Dri-Fit that he most likely wore to practice. Her eyes made their way down his body until they landed on something that was most definitely not a part of date night.

"Spencer, who is this?" Olivia pointed at the toddler straining against the leash that was strapped around his torso.

"Marco."

"And who exactly does Marco belong to?"

"Dre."

"Okay," she let out slowly, prompting him for more information, "and why isn't Marco with Dre?"

"His girl dropped him off as we were finishing practice. She got called in for a last minute shift at work, and their sitter was unavailable," Spencer explained. "Thing is Dre has an economics exam tonight, and Marco needed somewhere to stay."

"And you decided that here was the best place for him to stay?"

"We kind of connected," Spencer shrugged. Figuring he wasn't going to get a formal invite to come in, Spencer picked up Marco and slid past his girlfriend. "Look, I'm sorry about our date night, but I couldn't leave my boy hanging." Seeing the unamused look on her face, he tried to salvage the situation. "Hey, we can still have a good time. This can be, uhhh, practice." He threw a hand up, hoping she'd go along with it.

"Spencer, we don't need practice. I'm not pregnant, nor am I planning on being pregnant for a very long time."

"Okay," Spencer tried again, "think of it as us being proactive."

"Did you walk all the way across campus with him attached to that?" Still standing by the door, Olivia gestured at the bright purple leash.

"I carried him most of the way," Spencer set Marco down on the couch in the living area. "Turns out the bursts of energy only last about a hundred feet before two-year olds' legs give out."

"Does he talk?" Olivia asked, finally closing the door behind her.

"Well, I've heard 'me' and 'ball,'" Spencer turned to her with his hands on his hips. "Those were his go to's while we were bonding in the locker room."

"Right," Olivia rolled her eyes, making her way over to them and squatting in front of the toddler. "Hey cutie."

"Hi," Marco smiled before wiggling his way off of the couch and running into her room, the purple rope trailing behind him.

Olivia glared up at Spencer who gave her an apologetic look. "I mean he did come with restraints."

"Well, what's the plan?" Olivia huffed as they followed Marco into her bedroom.
