I've always had plenty of threads and storylines that loosely connect different parts of this family's story, but obvs don't have the time to write and execute them all. I started writing this one a long time ago as part of a little blimp in Spencer & Olivia's story and finally felt inspired to finish it. I love mommy Liv, so this one is packed with that as well as some fluff and emotion.

(And if anyone cares, the series of events that lead up to this are from Worlds Apart to Her Happiness to this one and then one last part if I ever finish it lmao).

Okay, that's it!! Hope everyone's excited to see them back on screen soon!!

The golden sunlight trickled in between the curtains, casting a warm glow along the grain of the hardwood. It was early, but that didn't matter. Because Spencer was still in bed with her. A rarity these days. His forearm was slung heavily over her stomach, and his goatee scratched gently against her shoulder in pace with his even breaths, and she knew this was it. Heaven. Three days of miraculous bliss in San Diego with Jordan, Simone, and her favorite person on the planet. After a year that proved itself harder than she ever expected, bye week couldn't have come at a better time. She need this time with him. She need time to just be his wife. Nobody else.

Because the past couple of months had been a tug of war between praying for this rocky era to see its way out and willing time to slow down. Her manuscript was going through final edits, which meant long nights and early mornings. And Sienna was transforming at lightning speed. Each day brought a new discovery that Olivia was terrified of overlooking. Then on top of it all, there was the mental load of trying.

But laying here with her husband, in the first weekend of peace in months, she finally felt a lightness. A twinge of hope.

"Good morning."

The husky voice floated up behind her, and she blindly patted over her shoulder, in search of any bit of warm skin she could reach.

"Closer," she said quietly.

Rolling onto his side, he gripped her waist and tugged her in. His flesh was still soft from the previous day's couples massage, and she melted into his embrace as he wound his arms around her.

This was definitely it.

Heaven.

His words were thick as he dragged his lips down her neck. "You trying to get into something?"

"Not yet."

A groan rumbled through his chest, then deepened when she wiggled away from him and into the cold air of their hotel room. The butterflies settled in her stomach like they always did on these days.

"I was waiting for you to wake up," she said, shoving her arms into a silk robe.

His face flashed through several iterations that she was sure only she could read. It had lasted less than a second, but she saw him calculating how to respond.

She sat on the edge of the bed and reached out to him, intertwining her fingers loosely with his. "I've had the best weekend."

"I love you." He took his time, kissing each knuckle, and at the end of it, made a last ditch effort to pull her back in. "You sure you don't wanna cuddle with me a while longer."

The proposition was tempting, but she held firm. She still had one full day of him to herself, so keeping him at bay for a few more minutes wouldn't kill her. "Spencer, you know the drill."

He pressed her palm against his lips and held it there for several seconds. "You want me to get up?"

She typically didn't and today was no different. "No. You stay."
