"Hey, Jaeseok."
We all stared at Jinyoung, who was on his burner. I had no idea how he snuck it in, but that didn't really matter. It turned out he had a way out of camp. Someone who knew the details about his interesting history and could get them weaseled out of the situation.
The plan that he'd set was pretty simple. Find a knife, keep it hidden, have Seunghun and Jinyoung get Seojun's attention from outside, go for the kill, and have Jaeseok pick them up.
It was quick... ish.
"In two nights. So not tonight or tomorrow night, but the next night."
He went silent again, just listening to Jaeseok on the other line. His expression was unreadable, but the words that came out of his mouth were clear.
"Great."
The phone call ended, and Jinyoung turned his attention to us. "We're good for an... escape, for lack of a better word. Now there's just everything else. We can deal with that tomorrow."
"Alright then." Seunghun rose his eyebrows, essentially asking if the meeting was disbanded. Jinyoung, Hyunsuk, and I made our way out, me with the flashlight.
Surprisingly, when we left, there was another flashlight already on outside. I didn't turn on the one in my hands.
"Quiet," Jinyoung whispered.
It wasn't exactly clear who was holding the flashlight, as it sounded like two pairs of footsteps. However, there were two indicators of who they were.
"Ack- Sunghoon!" The voice belonged to Areum. Hwang Areum. Will-not-leave-me-alone Areum, who was sneaking out with law-abiding-but-still-annoying Sunghoon.
My breath hitched. The flashlight showed that they were trekking away from camp, which was... good? They were just heading across our field of view, seemingly not noticing anything.
Jinyoung exhaled once Areum and Sunghoon had left. "Yonghee, flashlight."
He led us to the cabin, being careful with the door to make sure that it didn't creak open. "Head to sleep, guys."
Hyunsuk turned around, voice barely above a whisper. "Wait, you're not coming?"
"No." I couldn't see Jinyoung's eyes in the dark, but I could tell that they were shifting from side to side. "I'm just going to see what they're up to."
Hyunsuk disappeared into the cabin, but I stood in the doorway, the door hitting my toes when he shut the door.
I took a step back. "Sorry, Jinyoung. Do what you need."
I could practically see the smile on his face before he shut the cabin door again.
Maybe Chrysanthemum wasn't so bad.
