Yonghee felt uneasy waking up.
It's not that he wished he hadn't—no, nothing like that. But there was just something... off. Something was going to go wrong. Something had to.
The bad news that Yonghee expected came from Hyunsuk, dashing into the motel with a newspaper shaking in the air behind him.
"Jinyoung, you've gotta see this."
Jinyoung looked up from his usual place at the motel desk, frowning when he saw the newspaper. Unfortunately, the expression only got more exaggerated as his eyes continued to scan the pages.
After what felt like an eternity, Jinyoung handed the newspaper back to Hyunsuk. "Pack your things."
"What does it say?" Yonghee finally asked, curiosity getting the better of him.
"The police are on us," Jinyoung said simply. "This newspaper is a few days old, most likely, which means the police are likely aware that we're in Paju. We have to leave."
And that's how Yonghee found himself on a train for the second time in a week, in the same situation once again. Their decision was to head to Gimpo next, not too far but also out of Paju.
Moving often like this was tiring. Yonghee wished that he could just close his eyes and let the ground swallow him whole. Not because he wanted to die, but because he wanted to live.
