I took one look at the rocky terrain and knew I wanted to get out of there immediately. But I promised in the car that I would at least try. Leaving right away was the number one way to disappoint Jaeseok.
I glanced around the arrival zone. People were separated into groups, much like the beginning of a new school year. These people knew each other, didn't they? I had never had such a thing.
I scanned the crowds. There was a girl and a guy talking, the guy stiff and awkward, even while shaking her and. At least someone was making new friends. My eyes flitted to a group next, surrounding and pestering a kid that was way too overdressed for an outdoor summer camp.
It took me a moment to find the camp leader, but I locked my focus on his eventually. He was seemingly focused on something, so I followed his gaze to see two boys, smiling as they spoke to each other.
The camp leader— Seojun, as he introduced himself— took quick control over the buzz of the rest of the campers. Even then, his eyes pretty much stayed locked on the two campers, whose hands were now linked. On occasion, Seojun's eyes locked with mine, but I assumed it was because I was an unfamiliar face. I really hoped it would stay like that for the rest of the summer. The last thing I needed to do was be put on full blast.
