Hyunsuk woke up to screaming.

Maybe that was a bit of an overexaggeration, but it wasn't far off from the truth. Hyunsuk woke up to the sound of yelling from down the hallway, trying to sit up but proceeding to pump against a body beside his.

"Ow, what the—" Jinyoung groaned, stopping when he heard the commotion. "What are they doing?"

Hyunsuk glanced around. It turned out that he and Jinyoung were the only two still left in the room. "Um..."

Jinyoung scrambled up to his feet, running out of the door as fast as possible. Hyunsuk followed behind him as fast as he could, tripping over the blanket as he made a beeline for the door.

"What is this?" Jinyoung asked from down the hall, and Hyunsuk was just about to poke his head into the bathroom when Seunghun came out of it, red staining his hands. Hyunsuk's first thought was blood, but that changed when he looked inside and saw a bowl of hair dye sitting on the countertop.

"Sorry about the raid," Byounggon apologized, but he didn't seem too sorry with the corresponding dye wand in his hand, his own hair coloured blue. "We took Seojun's words to heart."

"A little too much to heart." Jinyoung shook his head. "At least you're trying."

"You should go red, too," Hyunsuk proposed.

Jinyoung hummed. "Maybe I will." He turned to Hyunsuk, studying his face. "What about you? I have a few ideas for that head of yours."

"Oh, I've never thought about it."

"Not once?" Yonghee asks, popping out with a head of brown hair.

Hyunsuk shrugged. "My parents would never let me dye my hair."

"Well, you don't really have a choice now." Seunghun grabbed Hyunsuk by the head and dragged him into the bathroom.

Hyunsuk just followed what he was told to do, even when Jinyoung just completely covered his head in tin foil before telling him to not touch it. In the meantime, Seunghun and Jinyoung became redheads, and then it was time for Hyunsuk's head to be de-tin-foiled.

Hyunsuk gasped when his head came out bright yellow, bleached to a point that would have his parents fainting whenever he'd see them again.

"Don't look so horrified," Jinyoung sighed. "This is just step one. You've got the healthiest head of all of us."

Hyunsuk didn't know how he was meant to trust the process, but he did anyways. He watched Jinyoung put something else on his head, something that looked the same as the bleach did, and he avoided asking any questions.

It was in the middle of this process that Jaeseok appeared again, chuckling once he saw what was going on in the bathroom. "What are you guys up to— woah, that's new."

"Yeah, well, it was good advice." Jinyoung twirled a red strand between his fingers. "Hyunsuk's terrified for his life, though."

"You don't get it," Hyunsuk argued, but he still sat as Jinyoung coated the last bit of his hair in dye.

"Then you should probably stop me." Jinyoung ripped his gloves off. "But you haven't yet."

By the time Hyunsuk's hair was ready to be rinsed, Hyunsuk still had no idea what colour it was. The others wouldn't let him peek at it, even as Seunghun tenderly rinsed his hair. Yonghee was dedicated to the very end, covering Hyunsuk's eyes and providing a countdown before revealing his hair colour.

Gray.

Hyunsuk picked a strand, feeling it between his fingers. "Wow," he said simply.

"Well?" Jinyoung ruffled his hair. "Do you like my handiwork?"

"It's good. Awesome, really." Hyunsuk leaned back. "Guess nobody's descriptions about us will be accurate anymore."

Hyunsuk meant it as a joke, and it passed off as one, but to him, it felt too real to ignore.
