I woke up in the dead of the night. Usually I slept peacefully, so something had to be off. After tossing and turning for half an hour, I figured that maybe I could wake up Yonghee or Jinyoung and talk to them instead. Probably outside, as to not bother our other two cabinmates any more. What were their names? I hadn't asked.
Slowly, I got out of the old bed, cringing with every creak that came out from it. By now, my eyes had adjusted to both the darkness and the assistance of the moonlight streaming past the flimsy curtains.
I looked towards the clock first. 2:04am. Then I glanced at Yonghee and Jinyoung's bed. Jinyoung was gone, which was a little surprising, but what was more surprising was that Yonghee was as well. The top bunk of the bed was completely empty, the bedsheets bunched up against the wall.
That was weird. That was so weird. Figuring I now had no one to talk to, I settled back down in my sheets and tried to close me eyes.
I was just drifting off when the cabin door opened, and I didn't even need to look to know that it was Yonghee. I wanted to know where he went, as I did with Jinyoung, but some things could wait.
