The glass ceiling came smashing and gunshots were being fired. I didn't understand what was happening until I caught a glimpse of Giovanni coming from the corner that we just passed.

It was a distraction.

One guy on my side fell to the ground in a thud and I could hear other men running and gunshots echoing through the walls. I yanked my arm from the other guy's hold and Giovanni shot him in the leg. "Get that shit off me now." I commanded and he obeyed.

I pulled the heavy metal out of the pants and finished him off. Giovanni eyes widened, mouth wide open. "Enough of this, we need to get out of here right now." I yelled, firing the gun at someone else who was about to shoot Giovanni. "Be careful." I rolled my eyes at him and he scurried over to me.

The pain in my leg hurt as we rushed our way out. The cut was still raw from the day I got it. It's infected badly.

"Leaving so soon?" A voice croaked, turning us to face him.

"Alexander Costello." Giovanni greeted, well I wouldn't say greeted. It was more deadly.

So this is the famous man who I believe to be my father. Why don't I feel any connection between us? I didn't seem fazed. He looked older than I imagined.

He had brown hair just like me but his held strands of gray. I couldn't help but notice his emerald eyes. I wanted to wipe that smirk off his scarred face. After all, he's the reason I'm here.

Giovanni held me around my waist to pull me behind him but I pushed his hands away. "I know who he is." I spitted. "What do you want?" I asked with clenched teeth.

"My daughter, of course, welcome home, Irina. It's much safer for you here." He smiled, stretching his hands to me. I didn't move but I could speak.

"After twenty years, and now you expect me to run into your arms like some lost puppy. You can go to hell." I said in disgust. I tugged on Giovanni's shirt so we could leave but at the corner of my eyes, Alexander pulled out a gun and aimed it at Giovanni.

"Irina, come here or he dies." He said. His eyes were now darker than before. I'm not going to let him do this to me. I don't know him and he wants me to come to him.

"Don't do it principessa." Giovanni whispered. He would take a bullet for me. Just so that I won't go to my dad, and I didn't want to.

"No." I looked over to my father and yanked the gun from Giovanni's hand and fired. The gun fell from his hand and he clenched his chest. I couldn't help it and started crying.

I killed him.

My own blood. He deserved it but yet still I felt broken. The place was quiet, only my sobs could be heard. "You shouldn't have threatened me." I wiped my tears.

I didn't realize that Giovanni was holding me for support, otherwise I would have fallen to the floor.

I watched as he took his last breath before looking at Giovanni. "I'm ready to leave." I sighed and he swifted me off my feet in bridal style. I felt safe in his arms. Now it's time to go home. Where I belong with Giovanni. I wanted to get out of his arms when I remembered what happened the night I was taken. I cried softly into his chest and glanced to see some of his men got shot, fighting for their lives.

"Dimitri, get an ambulance to the mansion. Now." He scolded, quickening his pace with me in his arms.

It was in no time that we reached the mansion. It was different from the one in Italy. It was old fashioned and surrounded by trees. I liked it.

I was brought up to a room to be cleaned up. I couldn't do it on my own. I was weak, exhausted and hungry. "Can you please stay with me?" I grabbed Giovanni's hand as he was about to walk out the bathroom after running me a hot bath. "Get in with me." I couldn't help but want someone to hold me and tell me everything will be okay.

For fucks sake Irina, he cheated.

I watched as he took his clothes off and slipped behind me in the tub. I felt better. He caressed my hair and I felt sleep take over me. I traced circles around his chest and whispered something that I had prevented myself from saying for a long time now. "I love you Giovanni, forever and always."

After carrying Irina out of the tub, I dried her off and placed her in bed

After carrying Irina out of the tub, I dried her off and placed her in bed. Doing all this she didn't wake up, I got that she is very tired.

I was very mad at myself that I didn't find her earlier. I can't imagine what they might have possibly done to her. Although she had this deep infected cut on her thigh and bruises on her face. Despite all this she showed a part of her that I'd never envisioned.

Then why did she choose to stay here when I kidnapped her? She didn't put up a fight. She was innocent but held darkness in her. When I found her, she shot someone with no remorse but as for Alexander, I could see she was heartbroken when she killed him. She mentioned something about him threatening her.

I love you Giovanni, forever and always, she whispered in the tub. I could have missed it if I wasn't fully concentrating on her.

How can I not say it back? I've never told someone I loved them. It's always been strippers and drugs. Yes I want her but couldn't bring myself to tell her I love her.

Memories of my childhood creeped in my mind. Remembering the way my father treated me. Always pushing me around like I wasn't his fucking kid. "You never do anything right. You're going to die if you do things that way." Yet he never showed me the right way. Someone else did for him. My mother always came to my defense but he would scold her yet she still loves him.

When he passed the role to me, the only thing he cared about was heirs. I pushed these thoughts away and carried along my day.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and phoned Dimitri. "Did any of them make it?" I asked, pacing up and down the hallway.

"Sir only two deaths." He responded. I gripped the phone swearing that it would crush as I was frustrated. The only thing that calmed me down was that Alexander was dead.

I ended the call and went to get some food. We're going back to Italy tomorrow night. Irina needs a friend and I heard that she and Olivia are best friends. She asked me if Olivia can leave here with us and I couldn't say no. That's the only friend she has right now.

Maybe Anastasia can come over for a few days. She'll like her. Anastasia is the only one who knew that I went to Russia and if dad finds out, I'll kill her.
After all, I'm glad my princess is back where she belongs.

With me.
