Alexandra Carter passed away at age the age of 21 as she was caught in the traveller's spell which prevented spirit magic from working. As the other side collapsed, Lexi, Damon and Bonnie were taken with it... although they weren't. Lexi's mates, the Mikaelson siblings, all switched off their humanities as they were unable to bear the torment of losing their soulmate.
