Owen's POV

The three coven members had been taken to the Academy hospital with promises to Dr. Roberts of a full report. He was to keep the victims in a secluded section and under false names until we could figure out what was going on.

It was nearly four in the morning when we finally reached the manor, all of us in varying states of exhaustion. Eveleen had fallen asleep on the ride home and was nestled in Silas's arms. "Mikri magissa can sleep in my room," he said softly, heading up the stairs. I just nodded. It was far too late in the evening for any discussions so I watched as all of my brothers headed to their rooms. North had given Brandon the guest room for the night. Only Sean remained. He held a glass of whiskey in his hands, nursing it slowly. I sat across from him with my own glass, waiting for him to break the silence.

He didn't lift his head when he finally spoke. "I was chosen, Owen...me, the child that was thrown away. She chose me." His shoulders shook as I quickly moved onto the couch next to him, taking the glass from his hands, I placed it on the table, then wrapped my arms around his shoulders and held him as he cried. I knew he was struggling to understand what had happened, and for that matter what might eventually happen to each of us. But for Sean this was particularly emotional. He'd spent his whole life feeling less because his birth mother had discarded him in a rubbish bin. Despite all his accomplishments, that nagging doubt had remained. Then when Sang left and we discovered her betrayal, Sean had spiraled.

I pressed a kiss to the side of his head, "She chose you because you are worthy." I felt my own tears sliding down my cheeks. "I spend every day in awe of you, Sean. Your intelligence, your natural charisma, your inner light - this is what makes you, you." I gently turned his chin, making him meet my gaze. His green eyes glistened with tears, blonde curls disheveled but still so perfect. He was absolutely breathtaking. My voice trembled as I spoke, "I've loved you since we were children, Sean. You are amazing beyond words," and with that, I crashed my lips against his. I felt him take in a sudden breath as he began to return the kiss. My fingers slid into his soft curls, grabbing a handful and pulling him tight against me. When he let out a slight moan, I quickly slipped my tongue between his lips. The kiss deepened as we explored each other's mouths.

I pulled back, both of us panting heavily. "Stay with me tonight?' I begged, searching his eyes. Over the years our friendship had become something more. In my own insecurity, I'd kept it from the others and Sean had agreed to it. It wasn't until Sang left that I'd begun to realize how selfish I'd been. All those times he needed me to hold him, reassure him, and I'd been so afraid of the other's judgment, that I'd left him to struggle alone.

"Owen, are you sure, really sure?" He grasped my hand tightly, "What about the others, what about Eveleen?"

"What about them," I said, quickly planting a kiss on his swollen lips. "I'm in love with you, Dr. Sean Green and it's about time everyone in this family knew it." I watched as his face lit up. I stood, tugging his hand, and led him down the hall to my bedroom.
