Summary: Minji becomes a regular at the reader's shave ice shop.
Author's Note: Thank you to V for the inspiration for this story!

Quite some time had passed since Minji had first visited Summer Holiday Shave Ice Shack. She had returned, as promised, of course. You had come to expect her every Wednesday afternoon, her day off, for six weeks now. Assuming your tradition held true, this would make seven weeks. And of course, Minji never disappointed you.

"Good afternoon, sunshine," you said with a smile as you set down your book and stood up from your (finally new and improved as of two weeks ago) stool.

"Afternoon, love," Minji called from across the shop as the door swung closed behind her. That was a new nickname that you had earned in last week's conversation over rainbow shaved ice when you had admitted your crush on her, and it hadn't yet failed to make your heart race.

"What's today's craving?" you asked, and Minji hummed thoughtfully.

"Watermelon, please. I would really like watermelon."

"As you wish," you replied simply as you began preparing her sweet treat. You handed it over in exchange for the cash that Minji gave you (regrettably, your parents had informed you after the first week that you could not continue luring the beautiful girl in with free food) before joining her at her favorite table. "How was your week?"

"Good," Minji mumbled through a mouthful of frozen goodness. "Gahyeon taught me how to make flower crowns yesterday."

"Oh, really?" you asked bemusedly. You had already heard several stories about Minji's new coworker at the botanical gardens that she had found a job at, but they never failed to entertain you.

"Mhm," Minji replied proudly. "I can teach you, too."

"I'd love that," you said. "Sounds like a good way to spend such a nice afternoon," you added as you glanced out the windows.

Immediately, Minji perked up. "Really? You can take the rest of the day off?"

"Maybe not the whole afternoon," you mused. "But I suppose that taking a late lunch hour wouldn't hurt."

"Oh, yay!" You almost laughed at the way that Minji began quickly shoveling the rest of her shaved ice in her mouth, but you were a bit more concerned than entertained. You didn't have to worry for long, though. Minji stood up, taking the paper dish with her in one hand as she used the other to tug you by the arm towards the door. "Let's go now!"

"Okay," you chuckled. The shop was built just in front of a field that was currently filled with flowers, so you wouldn't need to lock up anything, since the building would easily be within view.

"This is perfect," Minji stated as she bounced through the long grass in a manner not unlike a bunny rabbit. "Look at all these daisies!"

"My favorite flower," you mumbled shyly, and Minji turned to you with a smile as she plucked one from the ground, halving the long stem before tucking it behind your ear. Before you could react, she sat the two of you down in the field and picked another, smiling mischievously as she let go of your arm to begin taking white petals off of the golden center one by one. "She likes me, she likes me not..."

You giggled and shook your head slightly at her antics, beginning to reach around you and begin a collection, placing each flower on Minji's lap. She abandoned her previous project with a grin and began lacing the new flowers together instead, all the while talking you through the process. Before you knew it, she had a whole tiara fit for a fairy princess in her hands.

"Wow, Minji, it looks great," you said admiringly.

"Thanks," Minji grinned as she plunked it on top of your head. "Okay, now it's your turn to make one for me."

"Don't get mad if it's not that good," you mumbled sheepishly.

"Don't be silly, I would never. Plus, I'll help you," Minji replied. The two of you collected some more flowers, and once satisfied with the amount, Minji leaned forward, selecting two daisies from your lap. "I'll start it for you."

The process was easier than it looked, to your relief. It ended up being a little wonkier in places than Minji's, but after a few minutes of focusing, you had your very own handmade crown to present her with.

"You did a great job," Minji told you, a light blush spreading across her cheeks as you placed the crown on her head.

"Thanks," you giggled. "I think that I still need some more practice, though."

"Well, we've got about forty more minutes," Minji laughed.

You stood up, brushing off your clothing. "Come on, let's walk around for a little bit while you eat, or, well, drink the rest of your shaved ice."

"Oh, I forgot about it," Minji mumbled as she scratched the back of her neck, obviously embarrassed at her melted dessert.

You chuckled. "Hard to believe, but that's quite alright."

Minji quickly tipped the edge of the container into her mouth, gulping down the sweet liquid. "Okay, all gone."

You couldn't keep a smile off of your face as she pulled the paper dish away from her face to reveal heavily stained red lips, with one single sugary droplet trailing onto her chin. "Oh, sunshine," you giggled. Without really thinking about it, you reached out, stepping closer and brushing your thumb across her chin to catch the stray drip, the pads of your fingers grazing her bottom lip. It was only when Minji gasped ever so slightly that you finally realized what you were doing.

Slowly, you began to lower your hand, feeling your face burn hotter and hotter by the second. Minji stayed frozen, so, feeling highly embarrassed, you opened your mouth to apologize.

The words that were on the tip of your tongue were quickly replaced with the taste of watermelon shaved ice and vanilla lip balm. Shaky hands found your own, Minji's right pinky twisting around your left one, as her quivering lips kissed you with nervous determination.

With the palm of your right hand, careful to avoid using the fingers that were sticky, you held the back of Minji's head and pulled her closer to you. She whined softly in response, making your heart soar. "You taste good, sunshine," you whispered against her mouth when she paused a moment later to catch her breath, and you felt her smile against your lips.

"That would be thanks to you, love."
