NOCTURNAL - JOAQUIN DEL ROSARIO

"May dala ka bang sunblock, Yvenne? Naiwan ko kasi iyong akin sa bahay eh."

"Is that even a question? Of course, meron ako! Bigyan na lang kita mamaya. Kayo ba meron?"

"Oo naman!"

We're already here outside of Franco's house. It's five o'clock in the morning and we still have to ride on a van in order for us to get to the resort where his birthday party will be held later on.

Camille fetched me at the house and I totally forgot that it was today so I didn't have anything to wear. Literally. I wasn't prepared at all, but luckily she bought me some decent clothes. She lets me pay for it, though. Well, I guess I should thank her. She troubled herself just to buy me clothes. But...

"Oh 'diba? Bagay na bagay sa'yo, Brooke! Ang ganda! Ang haba ng legs, oh! Saktong-sakto talaga iyong napili ko!" Camille giggled.

I awkwardly smiled at her while tucking down my high waist shorts. I'm wearing a baby blue crochet top. It's kind of cute but it's showing too much of my skin. It's definitely not my style. I guess I'll just change into something comfortable once we get there.

"Camille! Iyong bag mo! Huwag mo ngang i-asa sakin 'yan! Itapon ko 'yan sa bangin." I heard Alex's manly voice from behind.

He got here earlier than us and brought a lot of things with him. Camille said that he volunteered in making the desserts. Well, he makes delicious pastries so I guess Franco trusted him very much. To think that Camille bothers pestering him when he's too busy right now, I can't help myself but to laugh at their expressions.

"Uy! Grabe siya oh! Pinahawak ko lang naman sa'yo sandali, Pres. Parang hindi kaibigan eh. Amin na nga!" She snatched her bag away from Alex.

He rolled his eyes and then shifted his gaze to me. I looked away as I continue to tuck my shorts down. Why is it so tight? Do they not make shorts that actually fits perfectly?

"Wow, Brooke. Bagay na bagay pala sa'yo iyang binili ni Camille." He said, shamelessly scanning my outfit.

"Uh, I-I guess so. But I think it doesn't suit me that much." I scratched my nape.

My hair's tied in a ponytail today. It's the first time actually. I really don't like my neck 'cause it's too long. It kind of makes me look like a giraffe. Weird, right?

"It does suit you. Lalo kang tumitingkad." He said again.

Tumitingkad?

I haven't heard that word before. Is it the same as glowing? Ate Ria once said it to me before but I haven't paid much attention to her since I was busy studying for a huge test that time.

I know how to speak Filipino and I understand Filipino words but oftentimes, I tend to forget some words that have deep meaning because my classmates back then were fond of using the English language in my previous school.

"Ayie! Inlove ka na niyan, Pres? Asus!" She suddenly punched Alex on the stomach.

Poor, Alex.

"Bwiset ka, Camille. Kailangan pang manuntok? Manahimik ka nga. Nakakahiya kay Brooke." They both stared at me as if waiting for my reaction.

To tell you the truth, Camille's been teasing us and I surprisingly got immuned. It doesn't mean anything to me but Alex seemed flustered everytime Camille says weird things about us.
