CHAPTER 51

NOCTURNAL - EXAMINATION DAY

Days passed by too quickly. Aliah had finally said her goodbye to me and Ate Ria. She cried and even said that she still wants to stay for two more days. Mom got back from her birthday trip with her future family. I couldn't bring myself to talk to her even though she's trying her best to please me. Camille and I had a talk regarding her date with Vera. She was very thrilled and excited to share with me her first experience of dating. I was genuinely happy for my friend for discovering who she really is, setting aside the idea of the public's negative views about same sex relationship.

Alex on the other hand, accepted the fact that Aiden doesn't need his help in seeking peace and freedom from his ex-girlfriend. I've heard that Andrea didn't take it well. They became the talk of the school for a whole week. She got mad at him for using her when in fact she was also using him to make her way back to Aiden. To be honest, I was stunned to think that Alex would do that kind of thing in exchange for his twin brother's forgiveness. I mean, he could've done better. And now he's suffering from the consequences of his actions. Well, I know he'll make it so I'm not actually worried.

I had also received Apollo's best selling books and they were all majestic and well-written. Until We Meet Again destroyed me and I'm not even finished reading it. I don't even want to talk about it right now. And about our research paper, Sir Philip and the panelists have approved the three chapters but we still have to revise some parts in Chapter 2 and 3.

"Nakakamatay naman 'yung mga tanong sa Mathematics. Parang hindi yata iyon naturo ni Miss Natividad eh." Camille complained while sipping on her orange juice that was brought to her by Vera. I chuckled and started to recall all of the questions in Mathematics.

"It wasn't that hard. May mga questions nga na wala sa lessons niya pero madali naman sagutan kung babasahin at iintindihin mo lang nang mabuti." I said, diverting my attention to her. She's changed for a short period of time. Is it because she's in love ?

Camille snorted. I giggled.

"Bahala na. Nasagutan ko naman lahat at saka hindi ako nangopya sa katabi ko ha!" She proudly announced. I presume she's pertaining to Elaine who was totally focused and never even once turned to her side the entire time we're answering the exam.

"What's done is done. Let's just wait for the result tomorrow. We still have three exams to go." I tied my hair in a ponytail because it's so freaking hot here in the corridor.

We're waiting for Alex who is presently taking his exam. This will be the second time for the three of us to eat lunch together and he'll treat us again.

I took a peek inside of his room and caught him biting the end of his pen. I smiled a bit but it faded when I saw Catherine staring at me with those fierce eyes of hers. She followed my gaze and gasped when she realized that I was staring at Alex. She shook her head and went back to solving the questions from their exam paper. I ignored her and shifted my attention to Xylem who was now trying to catch my attention.

She was mouthing something so I moved forward a little but halted when their assigned teacher suddenly went beside her seat. Natahimik siya sabay yuko. Nilingon siya ni Alex at inilingan.

"Brooke, pupunta ako sa comfort room. Sama ka?" Camille asked. I turned to her and nodded.

Naglakad kami nang magkahawak ang mga kamay patungo sa comfort room malapit sa cafeteria. Napadaan kami sa classroom nila Evangeline. She was casually walking to the teacher's table with her examination paper in hand. I was taken back when I saw Greta behind her. They're the first ones to finish their exam.

We made a left turn and entered the first door. There's no one here aside from us who just got here. Camille opened the third cubicle so I entered the first one to take a pee. I didn't even realize that I was holding it back.
