NOCTURNAL - POSTPONED PROPOSAL

After the visit with Alex who was sick and home alone, I decided to go back home earlier than the time given to me by my Mom. I have to be back before she does and confront her about the post that I saw regarding her alleged marriage with Mr. Martinez.

She didn't say anything about it to me, her own daughter who's practically living under the same roof with her. Has she already forgotten about my Dad? The man who loved her with all of his heart? My favourite person in the whole wide world?

If ever she'd ask for my consent, I'll never give it to her. Not in a million years.

Just the thought of me being siblings with the guy who knows nothing but to act like he's some big shot or something, makes me wanna throw up, I would pass out.

Of all the people she could've dated, why him? Why Mr. Martinez? I know they dated way back in high school but that's already in the past. Does that mean she still have feelings for him while being in a relationship with my Dad?

How could she?

I looked up at the sky and there are no stars in sight. Never did I hated being alone in a dark place especially when my mind needed the space.

My wrist watch says that it is already 5:30 PM.

The wind blows coldly making my whole body shivered. I seriously have no idea what's gotten into me that I've decided to walk all the way here despite having money to pay for the fare.

I must've gone crazy. I'm pretty sure Camille's already at their house.

It's a good thing she was with me that time. I have no idea how to feed a sick person so she was the one who fed Alex and encouraged him to take the medicine 'cause I only knew earlier that he wasn't a fan of capsules.

Binuksan ko ang bag ko at kinapa ang phone ko na kanina pa pala tumutunog.

I was hoping that it was Ate Ria because she usually calls me to inform me about Mom but it wasn't her.

Gosh. What does he want now?

"What?" I answered in a monotone voice.

My eyes rolled in a hundred and eighty degrees when I heard his chafing chuckle on the other line.

I can always neglect him but my conscience says no. "You're so mean, Brooke-chan! You've been ignoring me all day. Did I do something wrong? Am I not your friend anymore?"

Gosh, if he was here with me, I would've probably punched him in the face for being so irritating.

"You didn't do anything wrong, you're just annoying. And stop mentioning that we're friends because we are not." I sighed heavily when I realized that what I said to him made him speechless.

I still couldn't forget what he had told me that night when I was reviewing my notes.

"I don't mean to brag but my family's quite rich. The main reason why a publishing company offers to publish my work is because my uncle owns a magazine company while my mom is the head of the renowned modeling agency in Asia." He said all of it in a whisper which is weird because in the first place, why is he telling me all these?

I couldn't care less about his family connections nor did I care about his uncle's magazine company.

"And?" I dryly replied.

Momo is currently sleeping on my lap and the stupid ghost is sitting on the top of my table, again. I wanted to push him but I am completely aware that it's useless and even if I did, he'd still come back to his position.
