Chapter 9 Meeting with the human royalty

Arthur Pov:

Today is the day when the royal family arrives at Zestier. Nico and I were storing our artifacts, dimensional rings and blueprints in my dimensional rune, before going to the training space. We intended to use all four elements but no deviants since we want to hide or Vritra magic. It seemed to be rather difficult for Nico to use wind and water magic, even after all this time. He uses them really well but if you are looking closer then you can observe that he uses more mana and concentrates harder to use those spells. Of course he does everything chant less. It seems similar to me since I still have problems with my metal and wind oriented Vritra magic. Yes my Vritra blood has awakened recently. So now I have the same protective shell made out of horns between my mana and aether core. The affinity that we both have problems with are shadow and mind manipulation. I can use the mind manipulation but only through aether but not with Vritra magic.

"Let's stop for now they are drawing nearer and we don't want to scare them right away. By the way if we duel with them who are you going to take on?"

"I will take on Varey since her ice magic and my metal magic is similar, even if I won't use it I will learn more by observing her. While you can beat that Whikes brat."

"Then we are in an agreement but I will intervene if it goes to far. Don't forget it Nico we are not anymore alone. Not now and never again. Little brother."

"Thank you but why am I the little brother?"

"Because I have more time on my back if you add all of our lives together. Or at least I guess so. You never told me what happened to you after the- you know incident." Nico's atmosphere seemed to change first anger then regret but then just sadness. "Hey look she is here now and we are nearly back together. Let's say one and half a year at most and then she is with you."

"You are right. So what did I do. I become a criminal what else I was a part of the war and died. I wanted you dead but I also wanted them dead since all of you were in some kind responsible for her death. I even tried to assassinate you once but it obviously failed. Wait how did you die?"

"I have no idea. I abdicated the throne and went to sleep for one last time in my bed inside the palace just to be born in Dycathen. I guess I was removed since I had no value for them anymore." Shrugging my shoulders I added. "But now everything is going to get better. We have a family for now at least and friends."

"Why only for now?"

"Oh yeah I forgot to mention. I intended to speak with both of you about that at first but well I will tell you first. We have to tell them sooner or later so we could tell it to them before we go on our adventure as adventurers. That would also be a solid reason why they would let Cecilia go with us. Well we should not tell them everything just everything about our first live and let the second out until the Asuras are out of Dycathen."

"Why do I only hear about that now?"

"I couldn't tell it to you before the time travel because you wouldn't have gotten attached to our parents and you deserve parents too. Plus as I said we have to tell them anyway and doing it piece by piece is less dangerous then the all at once."

Nico Pov:

He makes sense but still hiding something like this from us why? He always does everything alone. That idiot.

"Be prepared I won't go easy on you." I spat and conjured wind blades and water spikes which I shot at him. He countered with his own water magic. He redirected my water while disturbing my wind blade and dispelling it as a result. We were so enticed in our duel that we only realised the newcomers when the stepped through the door.
