Chapter 32 Widows Crypt

Tessia Pov:

Today is the day of the dungeon exploration. The people who partake are all a part of the class which professor Glory is teaching. We were briefed how the whole dungeon dive will work. We were told that we will be grouped up in groups of four. The groups are not yet final but I guess Cecil and Nico will be in one team since they are so close. Of course several students complained that it would be unfair since they are so strong but neither the professor or they did care. As a response to this most students wanted to join their team. I honestly wanted to be in a team with Arthur but to my surprise he did not participate. I also do not know why. He is obviously strong enough and had enough experience since he is an S rank adventurer. So why? Cecil and Nico did not answer my questions and Arthur did not even open his mouth to do so. He just ignored me time and time again. Due to this we had a little fight just recently. I just don't get it what happened? Has he fallen out of love with me or has he found someone else? Am I not worthy of him?

"Tessia? Are you alright?"

"Ah ahem, yes I am alright I just spaced out. Sorry about that. What did you say?"

"I asked you if you want to be in a group with Nico and I. We also asked Curtis but he said he wanted to party with Claire and we should ask you to come with us."

"I would love to come with you but we are only three then. Why not just take Claire and Curtis?"

"They said something which I totally agree with. They said you wouldn't have any problem in finding some partners since you are a person which several others have an interest in. What we mean is that it is saver with us because others would maybe try to take advantage of you."

"I am no child anymore. I can protect myself."

"We know that all but the part where you are no child anymore makes it even more dangerous. So please just adventure with us. Or do you want to get close to Clive and Lucas?"

"Okay you are right Cecil. Who will come with us?"

"I have no idea. Oh before I forgot. Nico and Arthur have been working on this. It is for you. I know that you have been thought in swordsmanship by elder Virion so this might help you."

She gave me a silver cane or staff. It was so high that it goes up to my ribcage if I let it touch the floor. On the top is a teal gem not bigger then the staff itself. All in all it locks like a staff with a little gem on the top. I look at it inquisitively. The markings on the staff or cane are beautiful but don't draw too much attention But why did they make it for me. It looks amazing but that can't be everything. I know Nico he always does the unthinkable.

"Are you wondering what the mystery is?" I heard Cecilia inquire.

"Yes. I know that they care but I also know that Nico has a tendency to go over the top."

"You are right. Well half right Arthur has the same tendency. He just wants to know that you are save and creates several artifacts himself. In addition he is researching magic while Nico is artificing. I sometime feel left out. Well I am talking nonsense. Just imbue some mana in the weapon. It will bond with you just like our own weapons. It will be able to change size to fit you better and only you will be able to open it and channel mana through it."

"Open it?"

"Just try it out."

I infused mana in the cane and it burned my hand. I let it go and I dropped to the ground. Looking at my hand I can see some tattoo but it soon vanishes. Is that like being bonded to a mana beast? I grabbed the cane and it fit me perfect. The balance was strange for a cane but it did not matter. The mana flew perfectly just like I wanted.
