Chapter 18

Luna

Amir's fingers radiated heat all over Luna's thigh. "It's fine. This is only a scratch."

"It's not just a scratch, Moon. You've been limping since we got off the freeway." He stroked her skin, healing her gently. "I should've done something about it in the helicopter, but I was too busy trying to keep your mind occupied. If I hadn't, you would have thrown a fist at Chase, and we wouldn't be here."

As usual, her husband had a point.

"I wasn't all that dangerous." A small smile twitched at her lips. "But I appreciate this. I was afraid I'd throw up on you."

"I'm glad you didn't," he said sarcastically.

When the dull ache in her thigh faded to nothing more than a memory, she began to pull away, fearing that healing her would have an impact on him, but instead of letting her move, he scooted off the bed and grinned. He snatched her up in his arms the moment his feet touched the ground.

He gradually pulled off her ruined shirt, taking a moment to ease her hair out before dropping the shirt on the floor. He didn't say anything as he tugged on her slacks and flicked the tiny white button open.

When she snagged a leg loose, she supported herself by placing her hand on his shoulder. A flush ran from her cheeks down her skin. Despite everything they'd shared, she was still reserved around Amir. When the last piece of clothing fell to the ground, she was stark naked, while Amir was clothed. When he reached around her hips to turn on the water, she folded her arms across her chest.

The bathroom became filled with warm steam, and his lips brushed the curve of her mouth after he straightened, sending chills down her veins.

She'd never seen him undress so quickly, and before she realized it, she was staring at his sculpted biceps. Her gaze traveled along his tightly rolled abs, then lower—
