Chapter 20

Standing in front of the window, Alpha Chris is watching the barbecue party that is happening in the garden. The cheerful atmosphere and laughter could be heard from the garden making Alpha Chris smile.
As an Alpha, he is responsible for the welfare of the pack and the members look up to him. He won't let his past destroy the lives of the pack members. As he looks at the children running the garden, he vows to find and kill Alexander.
" Dad, what's the matter?" Aston asked as he entered the Alpha office making Alpha Chris turn to see his son as he sensed resentment from Aston's aura.
" Did you spend the night with Annie?" Alpha Chris asked while ignoring the aura while his wolf is restless to know why his pup showing the negative aura to them.
" Gosh! Dad, are you serious?" Aston was embarrassed as he heard the question and shouted as a defence mechanism.
" Yes, I am. Answer my question," Alpha Chris spoke coldly surprising Aston.
" It doesn't matter to you," Aston hissed.
" You are the future Alpha of the pack and this kind of behaviour is unbearable," Alpha Chris responded while Aston clenched his jaws.
" How come it is unbearable? It doesn't affect my leadership qualities at all," Aston argues as his bitterness towards Alpha Chris increase.
" It affects your reputation and pack members will challenge you as an Alpha because you slept with someone who isn't your mate," Alpha Chris spoke as he suppress his growl.
" I was in a relationship with Ava since middle school. No one said a word against it or showed dislikeness about it... I am the future Alpha of this pack and the members have to respect me because of my achievements as an Alpha... They shouldn't be bothered by what I do in my personal life," Aston exclaimed.
" We are werewolves, not humans where politicians will give that type of reasons to cover their crimes... We value the mate bond and whenever an Alpha disrespects it. He loses the respect of his pack members which eventually drives him crazy... An Alpha can not bares that failure," Alpha Chris muttered.
" I know plenty of Alpha who sleep around yet they haven't got crazy," Aston spoke making it difficult for Alpha Chris not to lose his temper.
" Aston, I am telling you for your own good. This may seem like a one-time thing for you but it will turn into an addiction. Think about your mate, how will she react when she finds this out?" Alpha Chris's question made Aston chuckle humourlessly.
" I don't want my true mate," Aston declared shocking Alpha Chris.
" Aston, I know you are hurt because Ava isn't your mate. It's my fault for letting you and Ava be in a relationship. I should have stopped...," Aston interrupted Alpha Chris saying,
" Stop, Dad... Sebastian is a part-time Coach who won't make Ava happy so she will be coming back to me,"
" That's won't happen... The mate bond won't let it," Alpha Chris spoke with pity evident on his face making Aston angry.
" I will make it happen," Aston gritted his teeth as he spoke.
Alpha Chris looked at Aston knowing well he is determined and won't step back. This made Alpha Chris sigh in defeat and rubbed his palms together.
" Let's attend the barbecue party, everyone is waiting for us," Alpha Chris said making Aston nod in agreement.
" Aston, I will make an announcement. Don't show any reaction," Alpha Chris ordered before they leave the office.
When they both reach the garden, Alpha Chris howled to gain everyone's attention.
" Tonight is the celebration of Liam for getting his wolf and he is the first one in our pack who was shifted early. Congratulations, Liam," Everyone cheered and howled when Alpha Chris finished speaking.
" Thank you, Alpha," Liam bowed as he spoke.
" Now for the biggest announcement," Alpha Chris became quiet for a few minutes until he was sure he had everyone's attention.
" Aston, Liam and Oliver are the future Alpha, Beta and Gamma of Howler Pack. They were supposed to take their titles this year. But due to some circumstances, they will be taking their title in the next two years," Alpha Chris's announcement shocked everyone, especially Aston who knew the reason. Their previous conversation made Alpha Chris make this decision and that's why he told him not to show any reaction.
Liam and Oliver looked at Aston who had a calm expression which they know is Aston's poker face.
After the announcement, everyone started to enjoy the party while Aston, Liam and Oliver stood pretending to have fun.
" Aston," Ava walked to him and hugged him which made Aston feel better.
" Uncle Chris must have a good reason for this," Ava said and Aston looked at his Dad. Along with Alpha Chris, Beta Ben and their mates were looking at them. Aston knew they are hearing their conversations so he can't share his irritation with Ava.
" I know," Ava understood the situation so she nodded and said,
" I will be there if you need to talk,"
" Thanks, Ava... Isn't Coach here?" Aston asked while hoping to hear 'no'.
" No, he had an emergency," Aston was happy to hear this and wanted to dance but he nodded instead.
" Good thing, otherwise he would have submitted to Dad and me," Liam joked making Aston and Oliver laugh.
" Oh, the fight is still on. He told us to fix a date for that," Ava responded.
" Ava, come here," Anna called out making Ava surprised as they weren't talking and Ava who always the one who step forward to reconcile after their fights.
" See you," Ava said to Aston.
Anna took Ava to a corner of the garden and said,
" Why were you mad at me? It was just a kiss," Ava stiffed as she remembered the post.
" Aston and I had a history... It goes against the sis code," Ava answered.
" It was a moment of heat and it didn't mean anything at all... Let's forget it ever happened," Anna muttered knowing Ava will agree as Ava won't hold a grudge for long.
" Okay," Anna smiled brightly at Ava's answer.
" So, when is Sebastian coming? I can't wait to see the fight," Anna squealed.
" No, he had an emergency so he won't come," Ava replied.
" Is everything okay?" Anna questioned.
" The last time I asked, he said he is waiting for his Dad's arrival," Ava answered while playing with the ring, Sebastian gave. She could feel anger and worry from Sebastian making her question, what is happening?
Beta Sebastian is standing next to Alpha Ace waiting for Epsilon Samuel to come along with other pack members. Soon they heard a vehicle coming towards their direction.
The moment Epsilon Samuel came out of the van, Ron took control of the body. He ran and grab Epsilon Samuel's nape of the neck.
" Did you take them to eat humans?" Ron growls while Epsilon Samuel whimper in pain.
" Answer me," Ron then roars making Epsilon Samuel nod continually in fear.
Alpha Ace's wolf, Ron threw Epsilon Samuel to the tree.
" You dare to disrespect me," Ron barked while Epsilon Samuel submitted as he spoke.
" Forgive me, Alpha... I don't know what was I thinking... The voices compelled me, Alpha. I couldn't fight them," Ron stood still as he heard Epsilon Samuel.
Alpha Ace took the control of the body and questioned,
" What voices?"
" Ever since the pack died, I hear voices... At first, I avoided but later on, I couldn't," Epsilon Samuel confessed as he looked at the ground.
Alpha Ace and Beta Sebastian looked at each other in shock and gradually the realisation drew into their face.
" I command you to never kill humans or torture them for pleasure," Alpha Ace commanded and gently hold Epsilon Samuel's shoulders as he made him stand. Then hugged him, whispering in his ear,
" I know you are lying and I am letting it go because you are like a father to me and I won't let you get humiliated for fabricating the story,"
Epsilon Samuel stiffed at Alpha Ace's statement and hummed in response. Alpha Ace pulled away from the hugged and announced,
" You won't make decisions until it's approved by either me or Beta Sebastian,"
" Yes, Alpha," Epsilon Samuel muttered.
Alpha Ace turns towards other members who are feeling scared. A few of the members had injuries that were slowly healing.
" What happened there?" Alpha Ace questioned as he looked at them with anger.
" When we attack the six girls, one of them had silver weapons disguised as weapons. She used them to attack and killed Leo...," Alpha Ace interrupted one of the members speaking.
" A human was able to kill Leo and through a silver weapon... I trained him and you all better than that,"
" She may be human but she didn't fight like one. She was like a crazy she-wolf," The member whimpered.
" How did others defend?" Alpha Ace asked.
" One of them was able to break my bones through some kicks and punches, another had a teaser which she used...," One member answered and looked at a member standing next to them. That member then spoke,
" One girl was running fast...almost like us but faster. It took three of us to stop her,"
" Almost all the girls fought us expect one... She immediately gave in when we had her sister captured. But her aura was dominant that it affected us a bit," Epsilon Samuel spoke as he was lost in thought.
" Alpha, I don't think they were ordinary humans," Leo's brother Liv said.
" Explain," Alpha Ace growled as he was frustrated when he got to know mere humans had been difficult to capture by his pack members.
" When I confronted the girl who killed Leo. She didn't have any fear instead she was enjoying seeing my pain. Then this other girl stated they saw things that will scare the devil himself," Liv spoke.
" They must be hunters," Beta Sebastian groaned as he think of the problems that will rise because of this mistake.
" Did you all eat them and clear all the evidence?" Beta Sebastian asked.
" We were about to eat them but cops arrived so we had to leave," One of the members whispered.
" What?" Alpha Ace roared with outrage.
" But they were seriously injured... There is no chance they can live," Epsilon Samuel spoke trying to calm Alpha Ace down but received a glare.
" I want every information about what happened to those girls," Alpha Ace ordered Zelta who nodded and said,
" I will look into it after we gave a farewell to Leo, Alpha"
Alpha Ace hummed in response and walked towards the van where the smell of the deceased was coming. Liv opened the back door where Leo's body was covered with cloth.
Alpha Ace and his wolf, Ron howled in pain seeing Leo's dead body. Soon their howls were joined by other members.
" I want to see his injuries," Alpha Ace spoke and five members carefully took out the body.
After they removed the cloth to show Alpha Ace the injuries, Alpha Ace and Beta Sebastian were shocked at the amount and extent of the injuries. Leo's body was filled with deep cuts and burns, especially his chest. As if the attacker kept on attacking his chest.
" She better be dead or I will kill her most miserably," Alpha Ace vows.
