THE T.A.R.D.I.S WHEEZED to a stop in the time traveller's new destination. the doctor opened the door, mickey, rose and callisto following behind as they walked into a spaceship.
"it's a spaceship." mickey said in amazement. "brilliant, i got a spaceship on my first go!"
"looks kind of abandoned. anyone on board?" rose asked.
"nah, nothing here. well, nothing dangerous. well, not that dangerous. d'you know what, i'll just have a quick scan." the doctor corrected himself multiple times, muttering, "in case there's anything dangerous."
"so, what's the date? how far we gone?" rose questioned.
"about 3,000 years into your future, give or take." the doctor answered, pulling a small device up which whirred and lit up the ship. "51st century." the roof opened to reveal the stars. "the dagmar cluster. you're a long way from home, mickey! two and a half galaxies."
"mickey smith, meet the universe." rose smiled as he stared into literal space. "see anything you like?"
"it's so realistic." mickey chuckled in disbelief.
"i wonder why." callisto muttered sarcastically, pushing away a piece of scrap metal on the control panel in front of her and the doctor.
"dear me, there's some cowboys in here. ton of repair work going on." the doctor muttered, throwing some wires onto the panel. callisto nudged the doctor, pointing at the screen to their side as rose and mickey walked back over, away from the window. "now, that's odd. look at that. all the warp engines are going. full capacity. there's enough power running through the ship to punch a hole in the universe. but we're not moving. so, where's all that power going?"
"where'd all the crew go?" rose inquired.
"that's raises a good point. there's no life readings on board." callisto hummed.
"well, we're in deep space, they didn't just nip out for a quick fag." rose replied.
"nope, checked all the smoking pods." the doctor mumbled before sniffing. "can you smell that?"
rose sniffed, "yeah, someone's cooking."
"sunday roast, definitely." mickey added.
the doctor pressed a button on the panel and a door slid open behind them, causing them to spin around to it, seeing a room with a fireplace in. the fire was lit, crackling a low yellow in the wood.
"now, there's something you don't see in your average spaceship." the doctor muttered, walking in with everyone joining him. "18th century, french. nice mantle." he scanned it with his sonic screwdriver. "not a hologram. not even a reproduction, this actually is an 18th century, french fireplace. double sided, there's another room through there."
