BEFORE THE CYBERMEN could delete them, the doctor pulled the power cell out of his pocket and held it out, releasing beams of golden energy which blasted into the cybermen. they bent backwards slight before appearing as though they were burning before they crumbled into dust.
"what the hell was that?" ricky asked.
"or, how about instead, run!" the doctor yelled and began running.
mrs. moore drove out in the van from her hidden position in the darkness, beeping the horn loudly at them, "everybody, in!"
as the group began to clamber in, pete went to run back into the house but the doctor grasped his arm quickly, stopping him from doing so.
"i've gotta go back, my wife's in there!" pete panicked.
"anyone inside that house is dead." the doctor stated. "if you wanna help, then don't let her die for nothing. you've gotta come with us, right now." he complied and ran to the van as mrs. moore told everyone to get a move on. the doctor noticed rose staring at the house sadly, thinking of jackie. "rose, she's not your mother."
"i know." rose nodded and the doctor pulled her towards the van.
"finished chatting? never seen a slower getaway in my life!" mrs. moore shouted at the pair as they quickly got into the van, allowing her to finally drive off. once they'd been driving for a while, ricky turned around in his seat in the front part of the van, looking at the doctor who was sat in the back with callisto, rose, mickey and pete.
"what was that thing?" ricky asked, pointing at the power cell which the doctor was still holding.
"little bit of technology from my home." the doctor explained.
"it's stopped glowing, had it gone out?" mickey questioned.
"it's on a revitalising loop. it'll charge back up in about 4 hours." the doctor said, placing it back into his pocket.
"right, so we don't have a weapon anymore?" ricky asked.
"yeah, we've got weapons. might not work on those metal things, but they're good enough for men like him." jake spoke up, glaring at pete.
"leave him alone! what's he done wrong?" rose defended him harshly.
"oh, y'know, just laid a trap that's wiped out the government and left lumic in charge!" jake replied.
"if i was part of all that, d'you think if leave my wife inside?" pete snapped back.
"maybe your plan went wrong." ricky suggested. "still given us the right to execute you, though."
"how?" callisto scoffed in disbelief.
"talk about executions, you'll make me your enemy. and take some really good advice, you don't wanna do that." the doctor snapped angrily.
