THE DOCTOR OPENED the hatch to the car below with his sonic screwdriver, jumping down inside of the strangers car/(hopefully) temporary home. callisto followed down after him, gulping in fresh air thankfully. however, she paused when she noticed almost everything apart from the structure of the car was paper white, including the man driving.

"who the hell are you pair?" the man demanded, and, fair enough.

"sorry, motorway foot patrol." the doctor lied, his hand on the back of the man's seat while he caught his breath.

"we're doing a survey, are you enjoying your motorway journey?" callisto asked, her tone distracted as she watched the doctor crouch to the floor, trailing his sonic screwdriver over the hatch.

"well, not very much, junction five's been closed for 3 years." he replied, speaking to them over his shoulder.

callisto climbed out of the hatch, holding onto the edge of the square to keep herself from falling due to the fact a car had not caught up with the one ahead of it, leaving a space below her. a car trailed up, puffing toxic fumes. she let go and the doctor dropped his sonic screwdriver down to her so she could open it for them.

"your thoughts have been noted. have a nice day!" the doctor smiled, joining callisto on the next one down.

inside of that one were two east aisan women, who stared at the couple in shock. their car was bright and colourful, their hair decorated with bright tufts of pink and blue hair mixed with their blonde and black. many, too many, bracelets covered their forearms. they had also clearly spent a long time decorating their car to make it feel more like home for their long stay.

they had complaints of the length of time as well when the doctor asked for their thoughts. any sane person would have complaints, although, depending on the time they'd been on the motorway, sanity may not have been an option.

"thank you for your cooperation, your comments have been noted." the doctor coughed.

callisto picked up to bandanas, one purple decorated with white patterns and one covered in tiny bananas, "can we borrow these? thanks."

she handed one to the doctor, the purple one, and wrapped the banana one around the bottom half of her face. she started to climb out of the hatch, holding herself half-way inside when the doctor started speaking again.

"not my colour, but thank you very much... how come you get the banana one?" the doctor whined.

"what?" callisto asked, baffled.

"you don't even like bananas!" he exclaimed.

"i like bananas, just prefer pears." she shrugged.

the doctor scoffed, "if you like pears, you're not allowed an opinion on fruit. potassium is important—"
