PUSHING AT THE door ahead of them, callisto heard whatever had fallen against it and weighed it down shift. she shoved a little harder and the door jolted open slightly, just enough to slide through. the room the door lead onto was a stairwell, hopefully one that lead them somewhere safer.

callisto pushed through and the doctor nodded to the others, "follow us."

"rather ironic, but this is very much in the spirit of christmas. it's a festival of violence." mr. copper began, callisto lifting a metal panel off the stairs and against the wall. "it's said that human beings only survive depending on whether they've been good or bad. it- it's barbaric!"

"actually, that's not true. christmas is a time of- of peace and thanksgiving..." the doctor trailed off when he noticed callisto raising a silver brow at him. "what am i on about, my christmases are always like this."

callisto lifted a ventilation grate that had fallen from the wall and revealed a broken, golden robot, "there's a host."

"strength of ten! if we can mend it, we can use it to fix the rubble." the doctor explained.

"we can do robotics. both of us." morvin spoke up from the end of the line, nodding towards foon in front of him.

"we work on the milk market back on sto, it's all robot staff." foon added.

"see if you can get it working." the doctor agreed and the couple nodded. the doctor looked up at callisto, "let's have a look."

she, the doctor, astrid and mr. copper trailed further up the stairs only to find bars of metal blocking their path, to which astrid sighed, "it's blocked."

"so what do we do?" the doctor asked.

"we shift it." astrid replied easily.

"that's the attitude. rickston, mr copper, and you, bannakaffalatta. look, can i just call you banna, it's gonna save a lot of time?" the doctor asked.

"no! bannakaffalatta!" he replied firmly.

"alright then, bannakaffalatta, there's a gap in the middle, see if you can get through." the doctor ordered.

bannakaffalatta wandered up to the gap and slipped past, "easy, good."

the ship jolted suddenly, sending metal bars and pipes around them, sparks flying when two pieces contracted. a few of them exclaimed in panic, wondering if they'd been completely crushed by the ship before they could even attempt at getting out.

"this whole thing could come crashing down any minute!" rickston shouted.

"i have something important for you to do." callisto spoke up. "d'you think you can manage?"

"of course, what is it?" rickston scoffed, glaring at the woman as she spoke to him like he could barley walk.

"shut the fuck up!" rickston's lips snapped shut, looking at her appalled, but she didn't care enough to spare him a glance.
