CYBERMEN SURROUNDED EVERYONE. they stood around the room like the soldiers they were, organised and ready to take what they wanted. fear caused the humans to shake, the dead not helping their nerves. but, like the wonderful mother she was, jackie could only think of rose.
"what's down there?" jackie asked the couple. "she was in that room with the sphere. what's happened to rose?"
"i don't know!" the doctor said, a little harshly, leaning his head on the wall behind him.
jackie gasped a quiet cry and clamped a hand over her mouth, sobbing silently into it.
callisto placed, what she hoped to be, a comforting hand on jackie's shoulder, "we'll find her."
"i bought you here, i'll get you both out. you and your daughter." the doctor promised. "jackie, look at me. look at me." her teary eyes turned to the time lord. "i promise you, i give you my word."
stomping diverted their attention to the cyberman striding into the doorway of yvonne's office, "you will talk to your central world authority and order global surrender."
"oh, do some research. we haven't got a central world authority." yvonne said smugly.
"you have now." the cyberman stated and her smugness faded. "i will speak on all global wavelengths."
the doctor slipped on his 3d glasses again as everything was prepared for the cyberman to speak to the world.
"this broadcast is for human kind. cybermen now occupy every land mass on this planet. but you need not fear. cybermen will remove fear. cybermen will remove sex and class and colour and creed. you have become identical. you will become like us."
the cybermen began to attack the civilians of the world, everyone doing the one thing the human population did well all together: panic. jackie, callisto, the doctor and yvonne stood by the large window of the building with the cyberman that had spoken to the human population. beneath them, the city burned and people screamed in sheer fright, terrified of losing themselves and becoming one of these machines.
"i ordered surrender." the cyberman stated, noticing how the humans fought back.
"they're not taking instructions! don't you understand? you're on every street, you're in their homes, you've got their children! course they're gonna fight!" the doctor yelled at the cyberman angrily.
"for such an 'advanced' species, you really are thick." callisto scowled.
suddenly, the cybermen's attention was diverted to the readings on a computer linked to the room which held the sphere. the room where rose was currently trapped. the cybermen stomped in a circle, forming a line to face another.
"scans have detect unknown technology activated within sphere chamber." one spoke up.
"cybermen will investigate." the one speaking to the doctor added. "units 10-6-6-5 and 10-6-6 will investigate sphere chamber."
